Before I buy a plane ticket, does anyone have more details on this?

I know the interview is informative, but is this an opportunity to show how interested you are in the school?

Chris

Its not on the JHU master calender? Google pulls up nothing? Anybody?

Sorry.. I've never heard of this "Interview Weekend". You'll have to wait for AdmissionsDaniel to respond. As for interviews, they're officially informative, but your interviewer (who's a student) fills out some sort of short summary/comments about the interview and that goes in your application (from what Daniel said here)

It only came in on a week's notice, I cant imagine they sent that to ~15,000 people and expect them to come? I already got the flights, I'm going to call them tomorrow.

Nothing about the email looked like a hoax. Anyways, its an oppurtunity to go home at best.

sidenote: I so should have put "born at JHH" on my app lol

I got the email too. It seems legit. But since the event is in B-more and it is this weekend, I figured they would only invite kids within a decent driving distance. I live in VA and I am only an hour and half away so transportation is not an issue

I live about 26 hours away

Corrob.. you got an email about it?

I do live pretty much on campus, so it definitely looks like something locals were invited to. Corroborator's responce is an opportunity to disprove this theory, so we'll see what he says.

Regardless, who all is going from CC?

And the real question - do we get to meet
wait for it
admissionsDaniel!?

There is a Baltimore interview weekend this coming weekend on the Hopkins campus, but from what I know about it, it is an opportunity for students in the local area who would like to have a one-on-one conversation with an alumni of Hopkins.

As with all of our interviews, they are not required and they are informational.

Unfortunately, I am not involved with this program so I can't really answer many of the questions. My suggestion is to call the Admissions Office ASAP at 410-516-8171 and ask to speak with the coordinator of the alumni interview program.

I got the email about the weekend yesterday. I think I'm going to go.

great, does anyone know if its an opportunity to see around the campus?

I didn't get an email about it

I have a friend who lives in the baltimoron suburbs who didn't recieve the email? Is there a filter other than location for this event?

I talked to Ms. Brokl, you can tour, interview, talk to students, etc...sounds like a great opportunity

Did anyone go to this thing? I was going to go toady (Sunday) but I got snowed in. :(

My son and husband went. They met some people who had flown in from Houston, so I'm not sure how regional it was. Apparently there was a second event like this one last week in California. My husband was told that the invitations went out to kids they wanted to get to know a little better.(Son is homeschooled with lopsided scores and quirky interests...I imagine he can't be a simple evaluation:)) Despite the snow, both son and DH came home in love with the university.

that would make sense, I went from a 2.5 to a 3.5 (drastic change)...also a URM with many ties to the school of medicine, so I'm defininently an odd applicant.

i went to the california one. i was contacted super last minute, as in the day before.
