I just started playing a instrument so I only made it to the lowest band class for my sophomore year.

I was wondering if I should take this band class (which I'm not sure will boost my ec since it's only Campus Band) for one year or should I just boost my academics and take Stat AP instead.

I don't want to do band in my Junior year. Either Sophomore year or no band at all for my high school career.

Do you enjoy playing your instrument? Do you want to have a class everyday in which you'd play your instrument and perform at concerts from time to time? I've been in the top orchestra in my high school and loved it all four years, but this is a personal thing and up to you. If it's not a big interest for you and you'd rather just drop the whole instrument thing then do that and take Stats AP. Or do vice versa!

If this situation is more of a "what looks better on my transcript" this also depends. If you really like music and do other things with it (lessons, going to local festivals etc.) then band would "look" better. If you're more geared toward math then stats AP would "look" better. But remember, you're stuck with either of these classes for a year, so choose what you'd like more.
