Hey where are my band people(wind ensemble, symphonic&concert band etc etc) at??!?! Well i'm really excited i'm playing 1st clarinet in my county honor band! Now i'm awaiting my all-state audition results!! Wish me luck...are there any others out there that tried out for any prestigious orchestras..ensembles..etc. I'm just making a post for my band people out there lol. So if there are any accomplishments, events, performances that you guys want to share...please post!!

Well our school wins the state championship in marching every year. But I'm not in it because the band people become slaves

haha my boyfriend plays in both jazz and symphonic band at Serra over in San Mateo. He was really excited that at CSM, they were just as good (or even better) than Aragon. He plays bari sax for jazz band and symphonic, but used to play bassoon in symphonic last year.

but i'm musically deficient lol

I am a member of three different bands: the school wind ensemble (the best in the state and possibly one of the best in the country in a good year);the school jazz band, and the second half of the Cleveland Youth Wind Symphony; in the last two bands I am the leader of the euphonia.

Wow that's cool Kman1456..i definitely am not involved in all of these things. I would have been if i stuck with my old instructor...oh well

I play Tenor and Bass Trombone...I'm in Jazz Ensemble (don't want to sound conceited but I do believe we're the best in the county/state...even others say it)...I did Symphonic for 3 years, marching band for 3 years and Jazz for one...I also made it to the 2nd round of all-state auditions today and I made District Honor Band...I've been playing for 7 years

Trumpet and color gaurd. We got Ones at UIL! We don't mind that we're not THE BEST. We know in order to do that, we'd have to become slaves to the band. That ain't workin' for us. :P

I play flute. I absolutely suck at it, but I sort of have fun doing it. Never been in anything besides school orchestras, but I'm not incredibly serious about it.

I do trumpet for symphonic band, sax for jazz. :-D and i dabble in piano on the side.

Ya Jazz Band is kinda fun bluthunder06. I'm the 1st alto sax in my jazz ensemble. We just made a recording to send to disneyland! So i think we will be performing there in may!

I don't play in an official band or orchestra atm. But I do private work. I've been playing oboe for 7 years now. When I lived in America I played 1st chair at school and in the regional orchestra. Then moved here where there is nothing organized.

^wow guys......i couldn't play a musical instrument even if you held a gun to my head <<don't get="" any="" ideas="" gunner...lol:d="">> ... i call myself musically disabled :)</don't>

I play bass clarinet...first in my school's wind ensemble. No Bass clarinet positions in jazz or marching bands, and I'm not a fan of the soprano clarinet.

SAX POWER.

I used to be the best bass clarinetist in the region, but I got sick of it and quit.

Now I play bass guitar in jazz band. I've been playing that for 3 years, and I've been in music for 8.

lol mirror o' dirt that reminds me when the saxes were facing off in football against the clarinets in the annual clarinet-sax games. They recruited the french horns to cheer for them, so we did this cheer:

UNH! UNGAWA! SAXES GOT DA POWER!
(say what?!)
UNH! UNGAWA! SAXES GOT DA POWER!

over and over again :)

But I'm a band geek too! HOLLA!
2nd best horn in Virginia :)

Lol I'm from SE VA and I play the alto sax so it's virtually impossible to get into district band (I mean, first chair is normally a perfect 200 score, ya know?) and i used to double on bells because I play the piano :)

Ya i do love my saxes dont get me wrong...but is there really any competition for the CLARINETS!!!...hahaha you just cant touch us

I play the alto sax in the wind symphony/jazz ensembles/combos. Competition for All State auditions is insane. They accept x10 clarinets than altos. It's quite unfair...

I play the alto saxophone.

We got all 1's for festival and we're going to state in May.
