<p>Later this year i was looking to view sporting events from campus and found a device called slingbox. It would let me stream video from my home tv over the internet to my computer at campus. I was wondering if there was a bandwidth limit or speed limit on the internet or anything, because i dont want to purchase a slingbox without knowing if this will be possible.

<p>I know a few people who have slingboxes and they work smoothly. No bandwidth problem at all.</p>
<p>Technically, there is an <em>upload</em> cap, so you couldn't run a slingbox (or some other server) from your room (not that you'd want to, anyway), but there are no download caps.</p>
