Do you know which bank to chose for ATM cash withdrawal? Do they have Bank of America in a campus? thanks

There's a Bank of America in collegetown. I use M&T Bank because it's very convenient at Cornell. Not so convenient once you get out of the Northeast.

i use M&T because they have ATMs all over campus. It's good to have a BoA account, too, because they're national, like norcalguy said, as opposed to M&T which is only in upstate NY and a few other places.

I use M&T as well. ATM's are all over campus and there's even a teller's office (if this is what you call it) smack dab in the middle of central campus.

I've used M&T for a while though since i'm from upstate New York.

It's probably late to open M&T acct right now, the orientation starts on 18th and I won't be able to get ATM card at my home address ?

Bring some cash and then open an account once you're on campus.

Do most places on campus or in collegetown accept plastic?

Is is pretty secure to carry plastics credit card and bank cards) in your wallet? I mean it's your own responsibily but when you're taking shower or in kitchen, etc. thanks

You can still use M&T ATMs to withdraw cash even if you have a BoA account, no? I think they just charge a small fee (usually between $1 to $2).

they can mail the ATM card to your school address. you'll have it within a few days within arriving on campus. there are sign up kiosks during orientation.

2 dollars if you're getting 40 bucks from the atm is 4-5%. sometimes BoA will charge you 2 dollars as well, in which case it's 9%. that's a lot of money. it's worth it to get an M&T account.
