Bank of America Student Leaders

Congrats culturechic (:

Hey guys! Can anyone give me some info on what the application is like? I was just wondering what they are looking for. For the people who have been accepted, why do you think you got in? Do you have to be a top student as well as have a lot of volunteer hrs. Just wondering if my Son should apply next year.

@ 5boys, I think itā€™s more on leadership/volunteerism than academics. But Iā€™m sure a strong academic background would help! 8)

Gah! I will wait until Monday. And then I am going to shoot them an email. Anxiousness! xD

@5boys: I think they look at how active you are in your community, your leadership roles, and hours, as well as your letters of recommendations (I had 2). A strong academic background could do nothing but help it. I had 600+ volunteer hours but also an amazing letter of recommendation.

Heyy i just called the BoA today, and from what they told me they are still reviewing the NJ appsā€¦ btw anyone here from Jersey City?? hoping i get in =D and congrats to all that got in! hope to see u there!!!

Thanks all for your replies! That sounds good for my Son who has tons of leadership and will probably have close to 700 volunteer hours by the end of this year. He will definitely apply.

Thanks everyone! Congrats to all who got in, and good luck to those still awaiting decisions! Hope to see you in DC!

A question to anyone whoā€™s done this before or who might know, I have to leave on July 3rd - 9th because my FCCLA chapter placed 1st in the nation with our project in the STOP the Violence category and 2nd in the nation with our otherproject in theFinancial Fitness category (found out about both this and my BoA acceptance on the same day, WHOOP happiness overload!!! XD) so as the president, a regional officer, and the person who put in the most friggin work on these projects :stuck_out_tongue: (seriously, about 4 months of staying after school till 7 pm working on em, whenever I wasnā€™t working at my job, and a few all-nighters when I wasā€¦) Iā€™ll be travelling to nationals in Chicago as a representative. This is REALLY important to me, and I need to know if I can take a few days off the internship to go to nationals. If I HAD to choose between the two, I would have to go BoA, but that would suck like none otherā€¦ Can anyone help me here? **

Seriously dying to find out about East Bay results! I donā€™t have a back-up so I really want to know; if I donā€™t make it, I would do LeadAmerica, NYLF, or some other program. The only problem is that those deadlines are really soooon. Is anyone else in this situation?

@CultureChic - The woman that interviewed me told me that if you need to take off, itā€™s fineā€¦just as long as you donā€™t take off during the first week. Or something like that. And dang, you are awesome! 8) Haha! Congratulations & good luck!

@jennā€¦

I realized I never replied; I think I am also East Bay. I canā€™t be sureā€¦either that or Silicon Valley. I live in Fremont, if that helps.

I may be your competition! :slight_smile: haha, no, I donā€™t think Iā€™m really much of anyoneā€™s competitionā€¦ the hours that people have on here are ridiculous. I think Iā€™ll be happy if Iā€™m even considered seriously.

@typhical :open_mouth: That would mean you are my competition! Heh, because Fremont = East Bay.

Please, Iā€™m likeā€¦underqualified for this internship, seriously.

@ninidstar ME TOOO!!! Omg

Soooooooo anxious t_t

Yay! I got this message at around 9 pm thursday just as I was leaving the house to visit Dartmouth for the LA area. I just hope I wonā€™t have to commute 4 hours a day from Northridge like I did for a different internship last yearā€¦

Has anyone heard from Oregon? Portland?

Anyone heard from New York, NY?.. I dont see a lot about it hereā€¦ maybe my market is not that competitiveā€¦ :slight_smile: hopingā€¦ but then againā€¦ it is nyc.

i called the people and the lady kept on telling me they were going to tell people in mid may and by mail?

LOL NYC NOT COMPETITIVE?
In my opinion Iā€™d say itā€™s the second most competitive market, second only to perhaps the Bay Area or Silicon Valleyā€¦

Sigh time to look for another internshipā€¦! I really do hope I get this, just donā€™t see it happening ):

@Jordan

What market did you ask for? East bay?
