Updated list: I just got rejected :-/. The rejection letter is a thin envelope, and it has a very short message.

Broward County, FL
Charlotte, NC
Las Vegas, NV
Long Island, NY
Orlando, FL
Inland Empire, CA
St. Louis, MO
Philadelphia, PA

ohhh. Sorry kittastic. If you’re a junior, you can try again next year. (note one of the people above got in this year after being rejected last year). Good luck.

Nah, I’m a senior. I was hoping for it because I’m going to NYU this fall, and it seemed like a good paying job - I’m going to need lots of money in NYC. No worries though, I’m applying for a job at Girl Scout camp and I also have another job in mind. Good luck to everyone else!

[rejected : ( ]

congrats to the rest of you ugys though! : D
i’m gonna apply again next year.
it’s just great that there’s an ongoing thread about this where people can discuss the internship (as there’s nothing about it on the internet)

sorry, wheatbread, but thanks for checking in. Good luck to you!

does anyone know the invation code for registration?

see future_tbird’s post #136. I think they give you that info after your orientation meeting.

yeah, i was referring to the orientation date.

and i was accepted, but never listed how many hours i’ve completed. i don’t think anybody worth anything cares how many hours you’ve racked up. you can sleep in a library and fudge your community “service” hours and list it all you want. or, you can actually do things beneficial to the people in your community, explain in your app how you’ve helped, and not worry about if your hours are enough.

i don’t know the invitation code, either. they’re probably tell us down the line. again, they’ve been sketchy throughout this whole process.

also, i’m still bummed out about the change in pay (and hoping it’s different in my market). like, i kind of bought myself advanced presents after i got the call saying 5k. expensive things i probably wouldn’t buy on a 10$/hr wage. =/ i guess that’s what i get for being materialistic

updated list of markets that we know have announced decisions…

Broward County, FL
Palm Beach County, FL
Charlotte, NC
Las Vegas, NV
Long Island, NY
Orlando, FL
Inland Empire, CA
St. Louis, MO
Philadelphia, PA
Los Angeles, CA

I applied, I live in the Orlando FL market (which it says has already been notified) but I haven’t received any information for either way. Is there a phone call and then a packet if you get in? or is it just a packet or a letter in the mail? How does this work?

Storiesofthemind, last year, the rejection notifications came later than the acceptance/waitlist notifications for the Orlando market. I was rejected last year, and accepted this year…

I just wanted to update the markets that have sent out notifications. Some lady from BOA called me about the internship thingy. I’m guessing i’m from the silicon valley market. I received a call like 2 weeks ago. I think we’re working for a nonprofit that advocates for the quality of life of the community (Silicon Valley Leadership Group.)

Sounds dopeeee

I applied in the Silicon Valley market and from the above poster’s remarks, should I assume that I was rejected? I didn’t receive any call and it’s been 2 weeks as aforementioned above, and I’ve yet to receive any information (mail or e-mail) notifying me of an acceptance or lack thereof. Can someone give me a number or something I can do to find out for sure?

When you login to the bank of america student leaders application process,
there should be a 1-800 number that you can dial to ask questions.

I called that 1-800 number multiple times in the past, especially recently, and I’ve yet to receive any response to the messages I leave. At this point I’m already convinced that I got rejected.
