Banks in Binghamton/Vestal

Does anyone know what national banks have branches in Binghamton/Vestal? I tried Chase, Wells Fargo, and Bank of America and they do not have any branches in Binghamton. Does anyone know what banks have branches there? Thanks!

that’s one of questions i want to know

We use M&T but, not happy with their service. Even online transactions aren’t instant transfers!
Waited a week for a new bank card when lost.
We’re gonna change over the summer, M&T stinks!

When you go for the freshman orientation M&T will be there to offer your child a free “College Checking” account. You can also be listed on the account so you can wire funds to your child from your linked account (even if it is from another bank). I have wired funds from my CHASE account and it usually takes 1-2 business days to hit my son’s account.

Wires into the account and your child’s use of the ATM’s on campus from this account are free.

There is an M&T window by the bookstore (to deposit checks or make general inquiries) and there are a few ATM’s on campus. If your child is going to live on campus, it is safer and more convenient than them having to carry more money than they need - since they pass an M&T ATM almost every day. My son generally takes out no more than $ 60 at a time because he knows he can get to an ATM any times he needs more money. You can also set up online access to the account - so you can deal with any issues that arise quickly. Hope this helps.

Again, what bank delays an online fund transfer until the next day from an attached M&T account???
Ridiculous, it should be instant like any other bank.
This is NOT a good bank

I never said M&T is a GOOD bank. I said it was CONVENIENT if your child is going to being living on campus. This is especially true given that freshman are not allowed to have cars.

I would rather deal with a one day delay when I wire $ 300 into my son’s account than having him take a bus into town to get money out of his bank’s ATM or paying a service fee if he uses M&T’s ATM to withdraw money using another bank’s ATM card.

If you are going to complain about M&T and you plan on changing over the summer, then provide information about an alternative rather than rant because your child lost their ATM card and had to wait a week for a new one. I just don’t see how any other bank can be as convenient for freshman living on campus since the ONLY bank with ATM’s on campus is M&T.

As far as other banks in the area. I do recall seeing an HSBC branch in town.

I’m going to switch his account to a CU where fees are free/reimbursed when using others ATMs.
I apologize for the “rant”, just mystifying that M&T is so antiquated!

Visions or SEFCU. Both are big in Bingo

I was looking for a national bank but looks like that won’t happen. Thanks for the information guys! Very informative

Is there a Chase bank or ATM nearby?

M&T has been fine for me. It’s convenient, which is the only reason I use it. It also provides a few free non M&T withdrawals per month so when I’m home I don’t worry about the fees as much.

My local friends use the credit union Visions.

Anyone know if there are any non-M&T ATMs on campus?

Frequently Asked Questions for Families

Is there a bank that is associated with Binghamton University?

A branch of M&T Bank is located on the second floor of the new University Union, room UUW 209. Many students choose to have an account at M&T Bank, and are provided a special opportunity during Orientation to do so. You certainly may choose to have an account at another bank, just be aware that the only ATMs located on campus are M&T Bank.
