Banks near JHU

What banks are near campus? Is there a Bank of America nearby? We have a BOA pretty close to our home, so I was hoping to get my son an account there that he could use at school. Any thoughts or suggestions?

yea which credit cards should i get? Over here on the west coast there is Bank Of America and Washington Mutual and almost everyother bank...but I'm not sure which ones are on the east coast.

There is a Bank of America on St. Paul street, about a block and a half from Charles Commons. Also, for you Northeasterners, there is an M & T Bank next to the Homewood apartments.

There used to be an M&T bank right inside Gilman, so I would assume that during the renovation, it has moved to another location on campus. A phone call to the Homewood branch-800-724-2440, will give you the definitive answer. Also, there are ATMs at various locations, all around campus.

i believe the one at homewood used to be in gilman. At least, earlier this year that's what the signs in gilman said.

The M&T branch has relocated permanently to inside the Homewood Apartment building complex...it's right underneath the Ruby Tuesday's.

Both M&T and BoA have ATMs on campus: M&T has them near Blimpies, in Wolman Hall, and in Gilman Hall while BoA has one in Shaffer (besides the ones outside its own branch).

I have Bank of America (as do my parents) and it's worked out really well. Since I'm a student, there are no annual fees for the account and since my parents also use BoA, there aren't any fees to transfer funds. I've heard that M&T doesn't have great customer service, but that's just from one person's experience...

Another BofA family here. Works great. We transfer allowance in monthly online with basically "one click." ATMs are handy for him on/near campus.
