Obama is biracial, but he is afraid to admit it.

Actually, if you've listened to his comments, he said that he wouldn't consider himself exclusively black, and that he was labelled black. I'm not how valid the statement is, but it shows that he recognizes his biraciality.

Barack Obama is a liberal Democrat, and I can easily see him taking away all power from the states and placing it in the frail little hands of our current federal government to shake up our political system.

What? Obama is essentially a moderate, and is really nothing new. To say that he'll decimate state governments and destroy the world is fear-mongering.

mant00n: First, I don't see anywhere in McCain's plans to cut taxes as drastically as they were cut in your Ireland example. Second, please explain to me how Bush's Tax Cuts have helped the economy. We are simply not at the point in time where the the conditions can warrant a tax cut. Reagan cut taxes in a time when there was "stagflation". However, you can't assume it's the same situation today. At a certain point, , when taxes are low enough, cutting taxes stops being as powerful in promoting growth, which decreases the revenue for the government. If you look at what the intended outcome of the stimulus plan (firing the economy back up by increasing consumer spending), and how poorly that failed, you can see that cutting taxes in this environment is not going to significantly improve revenue. The problem with decreasing the government revenue right now is that the government is also spending money excessively. I understand debt is not always a bad thing, but the bill is going to have the be payed eventually.

Although I'm not particularly fond of either Obama or McCain, if I could vote, I would definitely have to vote for Obama.

I feel like he is one of the few candidates this year that actually have stances on social issues (gay marriage, environmental policies, education etc) that make sense, and honestly, I would just like to see an intelligent, rational guy in office who I believe could truly "fix" this country and present America in a better light for the rest of the world.

Without a doubt, Bush has tarnished America's image (and economy, and Iraq ...) and we need a president who will change that, and it certainly won't be McCain.

I really don't care, cuz this country in so much trouble.
I don't know who will take us out of the mess were facing in the U.S.
