Barely grasping accounting and not liking it

Will my business major be toilet paper now? I've heard all other business majors are the same as liberal arts of sociology degrees.

Here is a scale o how i seef job majors and the real world (the further from LA the better) , LA<business/life science/chemistry<IT/compsci (would be higher but i personally think technology will hit a bubble in the future with everyone going into this major nowadays)<physics/math<engineering/MBA<Law degree<advanced medicine.

For most students though (most cannot handle engineering and other science) Business is the most marketable choice, so don’t worry about it. worse comes to worse you can always transfer to Business Admin ;)

Business Admin usually has concentrations IE Finance

If you don’t like accounting I would not torture yourself with it. It’s hard for everyone, but if you honestly can’t stand it then the chances that you are going to want to slog through 4 or 5 years of it + the CPA exam + actually being an accountant is low.

As an accountant, I recommend it because of the job security and the work can be interesting. But it’s not for everyone. At my business school (decent state univ in VA) many people who chose accounting at first due to the perks but ended up hating it ended up moving into Finance or Management Information Systems which were also fairly well-paying and heavily recruited by good firms. Take a good look at your college’s business program and see if there’s anything else that you might like more than accounting. Unless you are a second semester senior it’s not necessarily too late to change your mind.
