barkley debate scholarship

can anyone plz elaborate on this. i greatly appreciate any help thanks.

extremely hard to get. Go to the barkley debate and the top winner of LD varsity will get the award. btw, the debate is in two weeks.

uh, you mean the top policy debaters? there is no LD in college; even if there were, the barkley forum is a bigger deal for policy debate.

The Barkley Forum is a huge national tourney for high schoolers. I'm quite sure it has LD and Policy, among other events. I'm not sure who the award goes to. I know Emory is known for its intercollegiate policy debate though.

There is exactly 1 Barkley Debate Scholarship per year.
Good luck!

i know what the barkley forum is; and yes, it does have both events. however, it is impossible to compete in LD at a collegiate level (the form of debate simply does not exist). thus, the scholarship will go to an outstanding high school policy debater.

while there might not be LD at Emory, there is actually collegiate level LD. Scroll to the middle of this man's resume.

Just FYI for anyone who is interested in collegiate LD.

Go here for NFA Lincoln Douglas collegiate topics for this year. http://cas.bethel.edu/dept/comm/nfa/nfa-ld.html

Maybe another college will sponsor an LD scholarship one day?
