Where else did you guys apply?
I also applied to University of Oklahoma, Oklahoma City University, University of Tulsa, and SMU. So far, I’ve gotten into all of them, and OCU is my top choice( behind Barnard of course!).
@charmandquark very true! Hey, if you get it and you’re still not at home, shout anyway! Let the world know, u got the right fam
@VM0123 I’m so excited, you have no idea. We can all agree that the worst part about TV shows is the 1 year wait- still hanging onto those last 3 episodes of orange is the new black so that the wait for the next season won’t be as long, lmao!
I applied to Fordham, UNC Chapel Hill, Pitt, Ohio State, Boston College, University of Chicago, NYU, Boston University, and Columbia. Waiting on NYU & Columbia, waitlisted at Boston College and UChicago, accepted everywhere else. But Barnard is my #1 so we’ll see?
Ahh I thought that they would be sending notifications later this week and when I found out its tomorrow my heart just sank. Barnard is so much of a reach for me that I’m just gunna expect to be rejected and if I get accepted it’ll just being a super amazing surprise.
@Vale12 I applied to (and got accepted to) SUNY Binghamton, SUNY Geneseo, SUNY Stony Brook, Fordham, and Case Western. If I don’t get accepted into Smith or Barnard, I’d be happy to go to Case Western. Even though it’s private it actually costs only 1k more than the SUNY schools which I am pleased about. I would love to go to Fordham especially because I have an (inherited) apartment nearby but they expect me to pay like 40k per year
I was waitlisted by Dickinson (prob because I didn’t do supplement essay) and Mount Holyoke (prob because I didn’t send test scores)
Rejected by Middlebury but I didn’t have any illusions about being accepted, I just applied because they didn’t have a supplement and I had fee waivers
Annnnd I’m waiting on Skidmore and Allegheny. I kind of wish I hadn’t applied there and instead applied to Bryn Mawr and some other reach but I didn’t imagine I was going to be accepted into all the SUNY schools I applied to. It is what it is haha
Did anyone else apply without knowing what their test scores would be???
It took some time before my December ACT scores came out and before that I took the SAT in November without studying for it at all and I ended up with something like 1660?
I don’t really have any excuses for taking the tests so late aside from being an exchange student the year before and learning how to manage a schedule where I have to take junior year and senior year classes.
Anyways I studied my butt off for the ACT and I had no idea what my score would be other than the fact that it might range between 26-29 so I ended up applying to a bunch of schools hoping that i was within range for a few.
I ended up with a 28. Not that great according to CC standards but I’m happy about it and I’m glad it worked out the way it did
@missandei That’s how I am with the new season of House of Cards. I don’t want it to be over! That’s probably the worst part about a Netflix series, you can binge watch the entire season and then have to wait a year for the next one.
I think if I could do it all over again, I would have applied to some more reach schools. My school is very small, in a very small town, so they almost always send everybody to the local regional, vocational, or the state universities. It was kind of odd with the reactions I got to wanting to go to Barnard. I thought they would be happy to help someone get out of the area to an awesome school, but they have a very averse attitude to out of state schools. It is very weird. I think if I had a bit more encouragement I would have applied to some more schools.
@missandei and VM0123 have either of you guys read the books? I got all 5 of them leather bounded for Christmas and they’re really good(still reading the first one).I also watched the first season last summer and both the books and the show are quite similar/equally satisfying.
@Tookme10mins Yes! I’ve read all of them except Dance with Dragons. Honestly I think the screen adaption for GOT is probably one of the best book to screen adaptions ever. I have to give them major props for sticking mostly to the books, while their additions also weren’t too bad either. And I’ll have to add that to my birthday list! Leather bound copies of the books must be so awesome! I’m a sucker for pretty books LOL
@yeah they are nice. The only thing is that they look kind of like bibles. Every now and then when I take out Game of Thrones to read someone will ask me if it’s a bible. I’ve had about 3-4 people ask me that. :))
@Tookme10mins I live in the Bible Belt so I think I would probably get that question too lol! :))
@VM0123 :))
@Tookme10mins I have read all of the books, they’re my favorite! Also the show starts to move away from the books around season 3 or so, but I personally don’t mind. Also leather? That’s so cool, I’m so cheap I got paperback off of eBay, lmao!
@VM0123 I hate binge watching too, but I love it. I started better call Saul recently because season 2 just began!
Hi guys, I’ve been stalking this forum since last June when Barnard became my top choice and ended up getting deferred for ED. It’s my top choice but I’m also afraid to expect too much because the December decisions were devastating. I wish everyone good luck when decisions come out tomorrow!
@suzzzzze Welcome! May the odds ever be in your favor. (I haven’t even read the hunger games in full I just love the drama of that line lol).
@mech423 yes I read that and it just made me even more nervous!!!
I’m honestly freaking out and preparing myself for rejection.
The worst part is that I have band practice starting at 5:45 tomorrow until 8 (CST) so I’m either gonna be in practice like " :-t ok but let me check my decision" or I’ll just wait until I get home so it doesn’t ruin my mood.
@olivebar Lol same, I’ve read at least five different articles on accepting college rejections.
About 24 hours ahhhhhhhhhhhh
@willsister1 I’m so nervous omg!!!
