Hi bbkansas! I’m also applying ED from the Midwest since you were asking ! I’m from Chicago, Illinois!
i just had my interview last sunday. it was pretty informal and like everyone else says it’s more like a conversation.
In my case, I would say my strengths are that I am a URM (latina and multiracial), have shown a lot of interest( went to open house, did interview, and I am applying ED), had a rigorous curriculum as I was a part of a magnet program (16 advanced classes, 3 dual enrollment classes). I think (read hope!) I have strong essays, have shown talent in writing, passion for activism and community service through extracurriculars, and I have a relatively high weighted GPA (4.98).
BUT my ACT score is a 30 and my SAT score 1320 (Verbal: 730 Math: 590) considerably low for Barnard. Also, I am in the top 15%, not the top 10% but my senior class is only 200 students and my unweighted GPA is a 3.73 (yikes!).

I just did my interview! It was via skype as there wasn’t really anyone in my area but my best advice would be just to relax and be as genuine as possible. Also I asked a lot of questions, I don’t know if that’s what they want but I read something on their website (I think) that said the interview should flow like a normal conversation. My interviewer was really nice and I actually kind of enjoyed it and I usually hate stuff like that, so I hope that makes you feel better!

I really loved my interview!! My interviewer was really nice but the only con is that she didn’t give me any chances to ask questions (I don’t know what that symbolizes so I’m obvio freaked out). Other than that, all that’s left is praying for Dec lol! How many of you guys have applied for aid?
thenameisi don’t panic girlfriend!!! I’m sure that it doesn’t mean anything. I applied for aid but will still probably end up paying for the bulk of it by myself/loans

Hey Guys! I’m also applying ED but I didn’t sign up for an interview - it was super dumb I just didn’t know they offered one that you had to sign up for. I’ve got 32 ACT and top 5% of my class, but im not sure that it’s strong enough to get in. I can’t wait for December to come already ughhh I hope we all get in!!

You get a mail acknowledging your app, the login details are in that only!
Mine also doesn’t have a check next to the writing supplement, hopefully they get it soon
