Barnard College offers Early Decision but does not offer Early Action for freshman admissions.
This year, the Early Decision (ED) deadline for Barnard is November 1.
All ED1 applications should receive an admissions decision by December 15. Last year, Barnard admitted 292 of the 1,221 applicants who applied early decision. The acceptance rate was 23.91%.

Hi guys! I’m starting an ED Class of 2026 application thread just because I noticed there isn’t one yet for our class! I know that it’s a little bit early but I thought that we could talk about what we think is going to happen with the SAT/ACT, GPA, etc. , things we like about the school and our chances at Barnard until next summer. Good luck to everyone applying!
Thanks a lot for creating this!! I am so nervous about everything, I was supposed to continue to do different sorts of activities, sports, and basically everything I wanted to try to have a better understanding of what I want to major in and also build up my resume but covid ruined it:( hopefully Barnard will understand? Good luck to everyone applying next summer though!!

Thank you for this! I just got a mail from my AP Centre saying that APs are cancelled for May 2021, so I’m just helplessly sitting here, trying to find an alternative. Being an international student really sucks
The thread of the current ED prospective students makes me so scared about the fact that next year, it’ll be our turn
Oh no please don’t be scared that wasn’t the intention at all. Barnard is a college that knows how tough it can get for students during the pandemic. Just have faith in yourself and the process, I can assure you that once you click send it’ll be the most relieving feeling ever. From someone who is eagerly waiting for the ED decisions to come out on Monday, I want you, awesome young women, to know that you can and will make it. Also, wish me luck maybe? xD
c/o2025 ED accepted applicant here. Just don’t worry too much, y’all have another semester to go. Idk whether this helps but I tried making up for the lack of activities by learning stuff online on websites like edx.org and coursera .they are wonderful resources and most of the classes there are for free. You can pay to get a certificate and put it on your college app if you’d like. You can try out a couple to see what kind of classes you like to see what you want to study in the future. There’s also financial aid available for certificates(really easy to apply for) if you need it. Hope this helps and good luck!
Thanks for making this!! Can’t believe it’s our turn to submit our EDs this fall! Best of luck to all you girlies!!
Does anybody know how difficult it is for international students to be admitted to Barnard? I heard out of about 650 students enrolled last year, only about 75 were international students…
hey people!!! An international here who is on the fence about ED-ing to Barnard this year haha (hopefully i decide soon). HOPE WE RISE ABOVE THIS ALL!!!
omg hey thank you for making this! I just made one unknowing this one was already established. Did anyone have an interview yet? I can’t tell if mine went well or not so well.
