Barnard - Fall 2018 Transfer

Okay, I just sent out an email asking them whether I could get my decision by May 15 ( they may think I am an idiot o_0). Cuz I submitted my application and sent out supporting materials pretty late if they give me a general idea of what time I can get my decision, I think you can sort of know.

@Vvvvvvictoria Congrats on your Wellesley acceptance! Let us know what you hear from Barnard – if they don’t respond to you by the end of tomorrow, then I’d try calling them since they can be pretty slow at returning emails and are often much more accessible by phone. Hopefully they will have sent out all of the decisions well before May 15 – I’m so anxious to hear back!

congrats!!! I applied to Wellesley as well and they posted that the result will be out on May 2. Did you receive an email for result? @Vvvvvvictoria

@Vvvvvvictoria I couldn’t help but stalk you a bit and notice you’re transferring from Mount Holyoke, same as me! Do you think that being from a sister college gives us any sort of an advantage or not?

@noraaaaz Hi, I applied to Wellesley last semester and asked for a deferred acceptance. So I guess we may not the same schedule.

@coolbeans2021 For Barnard, I know we have students transfer to Barnard every year. But that does not mean it will be easy. I know a friend who applied for spring entrance and did not get in. So I don’t think Barnard adcom will be heavily inclined to accept mhc students. But I do konw we have a mhc alumnae working in admission office who visited last semester, which can be a good thing.

@Vvvvvvictoria I just called and asked! All decisions should be out by the end of the week.

@Vvvvvvictoria ohhhh thanks for the clarification!

Anybody heard anything yet? I’m beyond anxious. Reading the admissions for the Fall 2018 1st years has been quite interesting. Seems pretty divided.

nothing yet :frowning:

@jonesnyc123 what do you mean divided? in terms of GPAs or…?

@ratgrrrl Barnard said the decisions would be out by the end of the week? Or was this Wellesley?

@hellodollyy No - in terms of accepted, denied, or waitlisted. It’s not really one-sided thus far.

@clk123 Barnard.

If this is the case, then the decision should be out on Friday?

@elenaaaaaa I think Friday is the latest we could hear

The admissions are rolling, so you’ll hear any time this week. The latest you’ll hear is Friday.

anyone know what time of day decisions usually come out?

@transferplease99 Someone earlier in the thread said between 5-5:30pm. not sure where they got that information but that’s what I remember reading

Also, the admissions office closes at 5 so it makes sense for decisions to be emailed out around that time^
