<p>Why are Barnard students in the Columbia network if Barnard is technically another school that’s just “affiliated” with Columbia?</p>
<p>I think it's because we (a) have Columbia email addresses and (b) take classes with Columbia students. Thus, they probably think we would want to be able to view our fellow students' profiles without friending them first, so they put the two together.</p>
<p>I think it's great--so convenient. plus, we'll be columbia grads anyway, so why not?</p>
