Barnard or NYU?

I'm determined to get accepted into a college in the New York city area.
I have my top four colleges. Ranked from highest to lowest.

NYU
Barnard College
Columbia University ( this would be my top, but it's an extremely high reach but anything is possible )
Pace University ( last resort ) not saying it's a bad college but definitely not my top choice.

I was looking on Wikipedia the admission statistics for Barnard. It's a smaller school and also has a smaller amount of applicants. Although from what I heard it is highly selective. I would assume this based on it's affiliation with Columbia. One thing that caught my eye was the Early Decision statistics. The overall percent admitted was 28.7% out of 4,000 applicants. But for the Early Decision applicants who applied a total of 392 applicants 47.7% was admitted. I'm not sure of the NYU admission statistics but I do know there are way more students applying which makes it more difficult for me to be accepted. So what do you think? Should I apply early decision to Barnard or NYU. I will be applying to the Arts and Science. SAT : 2100 GPA 3.6

Apply early decision to the college that you like better, not the one you think you’ll get accepted to.

that’s the problem. i like both colleges equally. and whichever one i got accepted to i would be equally happy. i would really like to get accepted into one of those colleges and columbia isn’t realistic for me.

ED columbia
pawn off deciding between Barnard and NYU until you’ve found out where you are getting in to.
If you get into Columbia ED, you’re set.
If you apply regular for Barnard and NYU and only get into one, the decision is made for you.
If you get into both, then you’ll have to choose…but you’ll be in the same place you’re in now.
