Barnard TRANSFER Fall 2020

Rejected from Columbia, still waiting for Barnard. :frowning: Did anyone who got in today had very low EFC?

Accepted from new york city.

My STATS:
HS GPA: 3.85
College GPA: 3.94
ACT: 32
Essays are just focused on my love for Barnard (I ED’d there and was rejected)

Transferring as a freshman (for sophomore) from Skidmore College/ NYU (I transferred mid-year to be closer to family)

I really didn’t think I would get in with those scores so hopefully posting them will make some of you feel more confident in Monday’s wave! Good luck everyone!

Stats - because I read through them whenever I got nervous.

I got rejected ED as a first-year applicant but I wanted to try again and got accepted as a CS major  I’m an international freshman at a small engineering school in the Midwest.

HS GPA: 3.91W (which really wasn’t great because I was at a super competitive high school)
College GPA: 3.93UW
ACT: 33
Essays: Talked a lot about how much I loved the core, campus, community etc
ECs: did theatre quite seriously in both high school and college (and a few other community things / tedx etc)

Good luck to everyone who has yet to hear back! I hope to see you guys around campus.

would any of the accepted students be down for a group me or WhatsApp group??

Totally! I went ahead and made a groupme. Since CC won’t let me post links, I added two spaces that you can delete when copying/pasting.

For those who have already been accepted: Did any of you discuss your love of horses? I wrote all about my experience riding, breeding, and training horses. Word on the street is that Barnard is really into #horsepower
Asking for a friend

Hey! No I didn’t talk about horses:/
@momentarybliss can’t find the GroupMe! Is there a way to private message?

do we think that if you get into columbia you won’t get into barnard? i’m not sure if the admissions office is in communication like that, but i didn’t hear anything back on Friday and am worried that for whatever reason you can only get into one and not the other.

@veggiewok I got into Columbia too and I’m wondering the same thing! I don’t know how it works but I’m just anxious to hear back from Barnard

I hope the rest of us hear tomorrow! I’m hoping they’re still sending acceptances! What do you all think?

I’m assuming more will be released tomorrow! I’m really hoping so because I have deposits due at other schools!

Thanks to everyone who DMed me!! Seems like a lot of yall are proper horseys. Hope college works out well for everyone:) So lets all saddle up and get ready for the ride of a lifetime.

At what time should we expect decisions to come out today?

I’m gonna guess 5:30 since that was the time that last Friday’s decisions were released. Ahahah I’m anxious as heck!

I wonder if they will even come out today. Maybe not again until later this week!

I don’t see why they would wait that long. During rolling decisions it comes out day by day. It only makes sense that they release other decisions today because they did so on Friday and during the weekend the admissions office is closed. There would be no point in lining their next wave of decisions out with when they released last week.

Many schools do a wave once a week (eg. every Friday), though Barnard is a rather small school, so I don’t see why they would space out their decisions so greatly

I’ve been following this thread since Friday. I was rejected at Wellesley, Scripps, and Mount Holyoke, and going off other’s profiles here I have no reason to think that I’ll be accepted to Barnard, but you never know! I’m hoping they’ll do another wave today… Crossing my fingers.

Don’t give up! The great thing is that Barnard is super holistic in their admissions process! Don’t worry much if your stats aren’t completely perfect. Your character and what you care about fills in the blanks

@dancingmunchkin You’ll be ok! I got rejected from Wellesley (like seemingly everyone else did too lol), yet I got into a T10 literally three days later. Transfer admissions are truly unpredictable.
