Does anyone know whether transfer students are eligible for the 3+2 and 4+1 program with Columbia or not?

can someone please make a transfer insta groupchat or Facebook group?

where are the decisions supposed to be posted? i’ve been checking the applicant portal for a month and today is the last weekday of may…

Does anyone know if I can get into Barnard with Bs and As in my last semester of high school and a 4.0 in my first year of college if I apply as a transfer next year?

Has anyone gotten off the waitlist of heard anything abt it yet?

@bombergirl

Hi! I think there’s no definite answer since the school looks at people holistically, and I have seen people with 4.0 in college get rejected as well. However, I do think a high GPA can help. I got accepted this year as a transfer, and I had a 4.0 my first semester. My high school grade is honestly trash. I had a mixture of As and Bs, even occasionally C. I think not only do grades matter, but also the letter of recommendations and the supplement essays since they are also indicators that the college uses to determine who you are as a student and person. Feel free to reach out to me if there’s anything I can help with! Best of luck with everything!

@whirlyb1rd nope! and I heard from an admissions officer that whether or not they will even open the waitlist is to be determined, so I wouldn’t expect them to reach out anytime soon

personally, I suspect that they over-accepted transfer students since transfers are bound to the agreement that requires they start in the fall semester (so essentially just secured $$ for the school), which is why there’s probably a shortage of seats to offer to waitlists

Hi! Congratulations to those who got accepted! I just wanted to ask- what is the deadline to submit your deposits to confirm your spots? And for any others currently waitlisted- is anyone aware of a deadline that the admissions will aim to notify us by of their final decisions? Current waitlistee here so if there are any others of you out there I wish you guys good luck too!

Hey! Has anyone heard back from the waitlist?

nope :frowning: do you think that they’ll let us know before the end of this month?

Did anyone get in? Those who didn’t, will you be applying in Spring?

Applied as an incoming sophomore to transfer for fall. I got waitlisted but just got told no. Has anyone been admitted off the waitlist? Just curious. Thanks! XO

Hi, do you have any comments on how difficult it is to acclimate to the new campus? Is there a lot of orientation and support for transfers? Did you have any difficulty with housing? Thanks!
