Barnard TRANSFER Fall 2020

I think they must have recently changed the deadline to April 1st from the 15th. Since I’m on the quarter system, I sent an updated transcript instead of my mid-term report (I confirmed with an admissions counselor that this was okay). On the portal it shows they received an additional transcript, but the midterm report still says awaiting. Any other quarter system people dealing with this? Do you think I should do anything, since they already have my updated grades?

Also, if a file you uploaded disappears from the Upload Materials section, does this mean they have received and processed it? I asked to make edits to my essays because of the extended deadline and was told to upload the new versions to the portal, which I did. I’m hoping they consider those improved versions over the original ones!

@MomentaryBliss im also on the quarter system and im worried about the same thing bc the portal still says im missing my midterm report! ive emailed them twice about this and theyve ignored me both times

@MomentaryBliss It should come up onto your checklist once you have submitted it. I did not update essays, but that is my perception. @azurepurple I’m not sure what the time system has to do with the midterm report as it is simply about the grades you currently have in your classes. I understand that you just began your quarter, but I would send in last quarter’s grades unofficially and upload them and perhaps send the document from the common app to your professors to sign if you have a grade in the class currently or write N/A, no grade yet on the document. This isn’t official information, but it seems like the most logical and holistic way to approach it. Hope this is helpful.

Last year, decisions started coming out April 25th

Hi guys, I sent all my materials in several weeks ago, but they’re still not being checked off my application checklist… I contacted Barnard but have not received any response! Is this happening to anyone else? It’s missing basically everything apart from my Common App application, writing supplements, and high school transcript. :frowning:

Try to email your regional counselor and call them (leave a voicemail if possible, I doubt anyone would answer the phone). I submitted my application couple days before 3/15 deadline, and they marked everything completed on the first week of April. So is probably taking them some time to process everything, just check your portal regularly and contact them by the end of the week if nothing has been marked as received.

@corinnaolson Since they pushed back the deadline for application submission (from March 15th to April 1st), they also pushed back release dates in tandem. If you look at the website (https://barnard.edu/admissions/transferandvisiting), they have confirmed that they are rolling decisions after May 1st.

@brightplaces oh good to know!

I finally got a response from Barnard admissions telling me to update my midterm report (one of my professors put N/A because I had no grades). I guess they’re not finalizing decisions yet if they’re asking for more updates?

On my resume, my high school gpa unweighted is slightly higher than it actually was because I forgot what my unweighted gpa was and I used online calculators to estimate what it was, I noted that the gpa noted was an estimate. I recently got a copy of my high school transcripts are realized that the estimate was a little high (0.2 off). I will most likely email them tomorrow anyway, but in your opinions should I email the admissions office explaining the discrepancy or does it not matter?

@brightplaces I’d definitely say contact your admissions counselor – imo it’d look bad/dishonest to not correct accidents like that, so it’s not worth risking it

@CHVRCHES Yea, I just got a hold of my hs transcript and was reading over my CV (the hs section hasn’t been updated since hs). I’m just a bit worried that it is too late.

@brightplaces I think you’ll be ok! I noticed a small error maybe a week ago (made a typo in a course code in my coursework section, even though it was fine in all my actual documents like midterm report) and my counselor said they’ll take note of it.

Wait, I typed hs and meant like right after high school…like late summer…staying home has made me truly lose sense of time…

I emailed them my midterm grades weeks ago and I just received an email saying they’re missing my midterm report. How am I supposed to submit one if my professors can’t sign the official document? Should I just resend the email with my grades that I sent weeks ago? Or forward them the emails from my professors with my grades?? Ahhh I hope this doesn’t cost me.

I also just received an email from Barnard saying that they are reviewing my application now and they are missing my transfer college report. I have requested my college to send it like two weeks before the schools closed… I have no clue why it has not been received and my school is on a spring break right now so admission office is not picking up my calls. :frowning:

I got the same message. Some of my teachers have been completely unresponsive. And some of them couldn’t upload their signature, so I’m unsure of how to move forward. And Barnard has not responded to any of my emails about it. I hope this doesn’t reflect badly on my application.

i have the same issue w the mid term report

and theyve been ignoring my emails about it
