My ao (which was also lili) said 5pm est!
nothing today?
Nope ;(
has anyone who was accepted yesterday had their portal updated?
Mine was updated at 11 am PST
do they only accept people once a weekā¦ im so confused
Iām not sure
Did you send in updated grades? How were your grades when you sent them if you did
I think they are looking at the list by location
I am certain that it has regional targets. Looks like West Coast yield is lower than expected, especially if it is admitting from the wait list before decision day. Letās hope that trend persists for everyone else.
does anybody have Christina Lopez as their ao?
hey guys! I got off the waitlist yesterday around 4 pm est! it was so unexpected but Iām manifesting the same for yāall <3
where are u from/who is ur AO? and what did u send?
Iām from the east coast and my ao is karen
You can learn some information from viewing Barnardās Common data set (all colleges complete this document). The most recent available is for the 2019-20 school year:
Admitted: 1097 students
Enrolled: 624
For ED Accepted: 292 students
Does not indicate # of ED applicants deferred to RD
Offered spots on the waitlist: 1545 students
Students accepting to remain on waitlist: # not reported
Accepted off the waitlist: 46
It is a bit surprising Barnard is going to their waitlist prior to the May 1st deadline and I am only guessing that @SebCoe is correct to assume they are seeing less yield from specific geographic areas.
From all I have heard, colleges go to their waitlist to fill a specific gap - be it geographical, special talent, area of study, extracurricular need etc. Also, financial need does become visible for all waitlist students for Barnard (and most need blind schools) when looking at the waitlist too.
omg me too, is there anyway i could message u on insta?
Christina Lopez is my ao.
I know a Texas full pay applicant who got off yesterday. She apparently got a call around 4PM Central time.
do people specify if theyāre full pay, or how does the AO know?
Going to the waitlist this early suggests that West Coast acceptance is super-weak. What does this pattern say about yield under the new the rules? Test optional candidates not accepting at the same rate? Students who submitted extra apps accepting elsewhere? My vibe is that āsecond choiceā schools are cleaning up on high stat students that were wait listed at places they normally would have been accepted.
