Barney Square

The sun is shining, the snow is gone, it will be 65 degrees today, did the workers doing the paving and stone laying forget to come back? Someone said that until the flag pole is repaired that no work will be done on the Grinder. Is that true? Inquiring minds want to know......

Any Mids out there know when the flag pole is due to be put back up?

When I asked my Mid about the construction, this is what was typed back:

“And they have been “working” on that thing for so long. They haven’t done anything! Its ridiculous, I used to look out my window everyday and see what non productiveness they have been up to. They move dirt from one side to the other… that’s it.”

I know it does not answer your question… but it’s an eye witness / on scene account of what we see every time we check the web-cam.

I recently heard from the Captain in charge of construction of Barney square and the barracks. He assures me that they will be finished by June, they are just waiting for the mud pit to dry out…

No way to run a ship.

Finally there appears to be some work going on at Barney Square. I know they are trying to get it done before graduation. Keep your fingers crossed for good weather!

I bet the engineers need to keep the geothermal field uncovered to make sure it’s working okay. Give it a couple month test run before it’s covered up. Time to finish up before graduation!

What are all of those concrete trucks doing?

It looks like they are finally making some progress. Let’s hope it’s done by the end of April. It would be nice to see the mids line up in the morning again.

Are those bricks?

They appear to be large paving stones.

I was at KP Monday past. They were pouring the cement foundation for Barney Square. Believe that the grinder and Flag pole will be ready for Graduation. :)

Will they have a ceremony when the flag pole is reinstalled? Barney Square is looking good! Hopefully, we will be able to see the Mids line up again for lunch!
