Okay so I took the act in September and got a 22c (23e 24s 21m 18r). I am currently in my sophomore yet and have a 4.0. I have read through the following books to prep: red act book, Kaplan premier, PR 1269, and Cracking the ACT. So I really want to get a high score ASAP. Should I get the Barrons act 36 book, and will it help me improve a lot?

Anyone? Help me??

Barron’s act 36 is meant more for people who have a 30+composite score and helping them get over that hump. So If I were you I would concentrate on getting there first before looking at that book.

Then it won’t help me at all? Which book should I get them, behave I fell like I know all of the strategies?

Have you done ALL the red act books practice tests?

Yes sir, they were easier than the real thing

And you’ve gone through all those other prep books that you’ve listed? Because if so…and you say you FULLY grasp the concepts in each one then your score should be higher. Did anything go wrong while you were taking the test? Explain how each section went

Sadly, I have went through all of the books, and did pretty decent on the tests. I feel like I should have gotten atleast a 25 on the english because I even studied all of the sparknotes rules. I know that I can do much better, but idk how I scored so low. I did have trouble with reading so I can see that, but in math I was getting at least a 23-26. And the science was harder in all of the prescribe test. And I think I almost out of all practice test besides Barrons, because I have never even seen an actual barrons act book.

I mean during the actual test, did you run out of time on any sections? Or anything like that? Because if not then you should go back through the books you already have and really study and try to memorize the rules and other suggestions the book has.

Well I ran out time in reading by a lot. And I had to guess. Should I buy the regular barrons book

Yes, you could do that! And if you ran out of time during the reading by a lot, I would suggest just getting some books to read and practice your speed reading and just overall reading skills.

Alright thanks! When do u think u should retake the act again? Should I take it in December?

You could take it in December, or you could wait until February! That’s up to you

K thanks for your help
