Barron's ACT vs. Cracking the ACT

Hey, so I know that there have been a lot of threads on this topic but I haven’t really seen which one is the best yet. I have a composite of 28 but I’m hoping to get a 33+. I can’t get both books, so any suggestions? I already have the Real Act Guide  Thanks in advanced!

Bump

Don’t waste your time with fake tests. Use real tests. The fake ones don’t pick up on the predictable patterns of the real tests.

Agreed with the above post. Use real tests. I do know that Barron’s 36 and Princeton Review are helpful for improving your English skills.

Thank you @mmk2015 and @outlooker for your replies. I do already have the book made by the real ACT company, there just isn’t any practice, strategies etc. I took two tests from the prep booklets and one from the Real ACT Guide, but my score hasn’t changed. I understand that Barron’s and Princeton Review are the original makers, making there test different from the real test, but they have ways to improve your score rather than just a book of tests.

I think the best resource for practice is to take released ACT tests. Just do a Google search for Old ACT tests and you’ll find plenty.

Barron’s 36 did a great job simplifying the ACT grammar and going into some of trickier grammar questions. For the reading section I found the ACT Black Book helpful.

@sewin2music If you can score a 28, you can move your score to a 30+. I suspect it may be careless errors that are bringing your score down. If you already have the Red Book, consider adding the Black Book to go along with it. Do the work thoughs in the Black Book, and it will help you cut down on careless mistakes.
