Barron's Math II Book Format

Hey guys, I just started preparing for the October 2013 Math II SAT. I am using Barron's, but I am a little confused about the formatting. What do the asterisks near the explanations of questions mean? Thanks!

I’m pretty sure it means that the problem requires or is much easier to solve using a calculator.

Oh ok thanks!

Don’t use barrons math 2 it’s just too hard for the sake of how they explain it such as hyperbola and parabola which almost don’t need the formulas.

Wilsoncw, if you don’t recommend Barron’s, what do you recommend?
College Board book only contains 1 or 2 practice tests.

@steven Princeton review. Also you can go online and find some REAL past papers (past practice test) if you know the correct people. I recommend you go find some because math is just a hardcore memorizing test, so practice makes perfect.

IN SHORT: buy one(or two) book for strategies and go do past paper.
