Barrons Sat Ii Us History

i am studying using the barrons SAT II: US History and the practices tests there seem extremely challenging to be the real test..
The real tests seems to have 3 ranges of questions: easy, medium, and hard while SAT II: US History only has hard ones..
Do you know whether Barrons makes their own practices tests or whether they use real released tests???

Which book uses real tests??

even though its not bad to overstudy, it can be quite anal to miss 15 questions on the practice test..

i am aiming for an 800 and this is quite important for me!!

Does anyone know anything about this book??

I'm taking the U.S. History subject test as well (in June). I just ordered the Sparknotes preperation book from Barnes and Noble. I'll let you know how that is when i get it (in terms of whether it seems overly difficult). I'm pretty nervous about it, seeing how i don't take AP U.S. History. The closest thing our school offers is U.S. History II Honors, which i'm taking this year.

yeah barrons is known to make practice tests that are harder than the real thing... personally i like that type of practice test better.

i think collegeboard publishes a collection of old real SAT II tests.

yea.. i agree w/ Jeff..

the first question is usually going to be like "What war was Abraham Lincoln during?"

but its "Where does the sole power lie to try a President against impeachment charges have already been brought?" instead..

AP Govt question. by the way..

Will the real SAT II: US have any govt stuff??

probably ... i just finished AP gov and a lot of it was connected to stuff i learned in APUSH

AP govt is an easy class i heard..
i think i can cover most of it in the month..

yeah ap gov is easy especially if you have already taken apush

just to tell you. barron's SAT II US HISTORY is way too specific and way harder than the test. I got a 620 on the barron's test but the actual test i got a 770

Hmm, we actually covered that (the impeachment process) in detail in U.S History. But then again, i'm not taking an AP course, its just honors. And the fact that I have 2 full years of US History doesn't hurt. Our school doesn't even offer world history.

interesting... world history is a required course at my school... so is us history

My State requires:

-State Civics Course
-Any US Hist Course
-Any World Hist Course

oh... at my school we also are required to take government and economics

Civics and "Govt and Econ" is same thing..

my school teaches AP Govt but doesnt give u Civics credit for it..

i am doing Civics correspondence..

oh haha... at my school it's 2 different requirements (gov and econ)

yea
but i believe my school builds both into one class.

at my school gov and econ are 2 separate courses, but we have block schedule so each class is only about 2 and a half months long, so people take gov/econ... in a semester... 1 quarter of gov and 1 quarter of econ

can you take AP Govt for Govt credit and AP Econ for Econ credit??
(if ur school has AP program, of course)

Our School:
9th Grade: Everyone takes the same course, its just called "Social Studies" and covers ALOT of U.S. History. It goes into WW2 in the most detail.

10th Grade: Everyone takes 1/2 year of U.S Civics, then 1/2 year of U.S. History I

11th Grade: Everyone takes U.S. History II the whole year

12th Grade: By this time our Social Studies credit requirements are fulfilled, so we have more options. I'll be taking AP Psychology (hope i spelt that right).
