I WILL BE ARRIVING AT THE OAKLAND AIRPORT ON THE 22ND. How can I get to Berkeley if the strike is still on? We should form a group of students who have the same flight to help each other out!

taxi to campus is only ~40? or youc ould taxi to a bus stop and take it up… it’s not TOO bad since you can use ac transit.

I really hope this doesn’t last until next weekend. That would be pretty epic. Public support does not seem to be on the side of the union workers this time, mostly because people are angry that there is a strike going on in a 10% unemployment environment over a 7% pay cut.

At any rate, you are probably going to have to pay extra to get where you’re going – taxi, airport-to-door shuttle, etc. Hell, hire a limo and get stuck in traffic in style. If enough of you meet at the airport, one of those Hummer limos could be good times…

I really hope this doesn’t last until next weekend either; I’m aggravated enough already that I have to go through this to get home.

I’m flying out on Tuesday and then returning the following Sunday (Oakland Airport).

Anyone else doing the three bus route (1R, 19, 50)? :/

Also, I’m not that familiar with taxis and stuff…what’s the going rate for a ride from/to the Oakland airport?

Not sure, Decimal, but a limo ride can be ~$60 from Oakland to SF, so I can’t imagine it’ll be much. :D

(Top of University to ~Gilman/San Pablo ran me about $10, I think, so I’d guess $25-40 from campus).

If you’re planing on taking a taxi, plan to be stuck in traffic for hours. If the driver charges, by the hour, be ready to empty your wallet because traffic will be slowed down to .5 mph on freeways near the bay bridge.

I’m hoping that the governator changes his mind and orders a a 60-day cooling off period. But, yea, like hell that’s gonna happen.

I am kind of upset that UC Berkeley isn’t saying a single word about it… I know there’s too many students to handle, but at least try…

So do you think it’ll be fine to commute to berkeley on tuesday? ahhh, this is really annoying…

Strike is called off since the few sides came to a tentative agreement.

^ What’s the source? News/Website?

and every other news outlet.

thank god.

BART always pulls this crap about threatening to strike but never do. Never worried a bit.

How can the Bay Area function without the BART…
