I was told that Baruch strongly prefers even their Macc applicants to have some work experience. Isn't a Macc program commonly for students who need their 150 hours to sit for the CPA exam? I feel like I'm in good shape otherwise. Anyone know from experience what someone's chances are right out of undergrad? Thanks!

Every graduate program prefers students with working experience, but it doesn’t mean that you cannot get in. Baruch offers a 5 year undergraduate/MAcc program, so I don’t think that you are going to have problems coming from another school, for those 5 year students do not have a wroking experience either, except maybe some internships. You should concentrate on your GMAT score and undergraduate GPA.

Thanks for the reply Tosh. I already took the GMAT and got a 660. I have a 3.55 cumulative GPA and a 3.82 accounting GPA. I’ve just started the application now for the Fall semester. Hopefully it all works out!

Don’t even worry, you already got in :)

haha I’m going to hold you to that!

Man I wish I was smart enough to get into Baruch. Good job and good luck.

Thanks buddy. I appreciate it.

I was just accepted today! For future reference, do not let the “experience preference” scare you away from Baruch.

:) I knew that. Now, be prepared to study a lot.

You nailed it Tosh. Did you go to Baruch, if you don’t mind me asking? I’m certainly ready to study. Couldn’t be more excited about the opportunity.
