I have total income of less than 35k/yr, 1 sibling in college and 3 others still in the house. Single mother household and efc of 0. We have no assets at all, squeeze into a tiny apartment. My GPA is in the upper 3's on a 4.0, but im only in top 15% and made a little over 2000 on SAT. I submitted fafsa before priority dealine, but they havent replied yet because my application was selected for verification and they said they just started reviewing those apps that needed to be verified. So does anyone know what i can expect? I really want to go to UT, but i have a full ride to University of Houston, and i refuse to graduate with over 35k in debt.

I don’t know if UT guarantees to meet full need. You can run the NPC for the school and see what it comes up with. Have they not even given you an estimated package? YOu can talk to the financial aid department and ask them? But really, until that bird is in hand, one can only speculate. If you don’t get an answer in time from UT, you should commit to UH and ask UT for an extension until their aid package is finalized. When you get their package, it it works out, you can accept it and let UH know you are not going there. Yes, you will lose any deposit, unless you can work it out with UT since it’s their timing that is causing this issue, but it has not been something that people have had any success in getting reimbursements, from what I have seen.

I very much doubt it. They only met 78% of students’ need last year.

Houston is looking like a great choice.

Wondering how it went for you.
