Does UT meet your financial needs?

Hey everyone I still haven't got my FA package yet. I'm very worried about it. I need it to determine which school I'll attend. I want to accept the offer of UT first and then continue waiting for my FA package if the result doesn't come out before May 1st. But I'm worried that it can't meet my need. So are you satisfied with your FA? How much did you get? If I don't get any FA can I apply for it for sophomore year? It doesn't mean I don't meet the eligibility for FA but my application is still not complete! They need my bank information but I don't have a check account. My parents have one but they're in Las Vegas right now and can't get back until 25th. Are there many scholarship opportunities in campus?

other than loans, UT doesn’t give much financial aid. The only chance you can get a decent aid is if you’re very poor or very smart/athletic. However, you can apply for financial aid once every year.

UT financial aid sucks :]
I’m surviving off scholarships

um … no. do not be counting on FA from UT.

what are you thinking???

Ha.
Well next year I’m only paying $950 each semester so I’d say they met my needs pretty well.

There are not too many scholarship opportunities once you get to campus. There are a lot offered, but they are usually small ($1000 a year is the norm) and are often reserved for seniors or upper-division students.

UT meets what they consider to be appropriate for your financial situation. As a general rule, this is far below what most students consider to be appropriate.

UT will consider loans from the University to be part of your financial aid package, and not part of the “student contribution” section, so you may need outside sources.

I believe the general rule is $40,000 or less for full tuition grants, but don’t quote me on that.
