basic questions from a canadian

Hello everyone

I'm a 15 year old french canadian from Montreal and i would like to have some details regarding schools with good hockey program.

I' m presently in 9 grade in a sport/study program specialized in hockey.

Should I look for a prep school, a boarding scholl an high school??? i'm confused

And what are the top 20 best school for grade 10 and 11....

Thanks

A prep school is a high school that prepares students for college. An academic boarding school is a prep school in which the students also live on campus. If you are going to live on campus, then you want to look for a boarding school. Do you want to stay in Canada, or would you consider schools in the US?

Do you want to know which schools are among the top 20 overall or the top 20 for hockey? I don’t have any answers for you, but if you clarify your questions you might get more suggestions.

Hi West Island,
What level of hockey do you play in city hockey? What is your average mark in school? Are you going to an english or french school now?
This would help us to tell you about prep schools with good hockey programs that fit you.

also, American high school’s go up intill 12th grade, so if you were to go to an american prep school, the sequence would be different than canadian schools which end after 11th, and you would go for 3 years (10,11,12th) and then go to college

No not all Canadian schools end after 11th. To my knowledge, only the Quebec ones (which counts for you). So you WOULD have to do an extra year at BS.

But yeah, tell us more about yourself! Hockey, huh? Are you varsity would you say? Grades?

Top American prep school expect top academics as well as sports. They are looking for the total package. There are however plenty of prep school that will invite you to play hockey for them but don’t really expect to hand you their cherished diploma at the end of 4 or 5 years. A fair number of athletes sort of mysteriously disappear after the hockey season.

@mmoyan: I think that montr

Quebec is the name of a city and of the province - like New York, both a city and a state. So when mmoyan said Quebec, the reference was to the province, of which Montreal is a city so you are both right! All of the province of Quebec goes up to grade 11 only but then you need to do 2 years of college before going to University.
