not a guy, but i think one of the Kent dorms has communal showers, not totally sure though obviously

that means there are no private bathrooms at all?

that is what i am trying to figure out are there private bathrooms in dorm rooms in any of the schools I listed? Thanks guys!!

You should be so lucky as to have communal showers. At one prep school I know, there were no doors on the bathroom stalls.

What school is this?

At most schools in general, not sure about any of these in particular, there are communal showers. I had them at my school next year and they were fine. You get used to the crammed spaces, and there are stalls for the showers so there is some privacy. Plus you usually don’t have to worry about cleaning them yourself or anything. The only issue was when there were too many students and not enough showers at one time, and you’d have to wait. This year though I’m in a separate dorm with single private bathrooms on each floor (three floors, really small house though so like not more than five people on each). I only have to share my bathroom with one person. The shower is full sized too, which you don’t realize how amazing that is until you a go a year with those tiny showers!

LC: DS in in the freshman boys’ dorm, Kravis. It is quite beautiful and a relatively recent addition to the buildings at Loomis. Although the bathrooms are communal by half-floor–shared sinks and mirrors (& some urinals, I think?), the commodes are separate (like airport bathroom stalls) and the showers are separate, with curtains.

@Samantha,

I think that “communal showers” refers to an undivided room with multiple shower heads where everyone sees each other in their birthday suits (i.e., like in a bad prison movie)

yes you are right. Just want to know if there are any private bathrooms located in dorm rooms. I hope there are no communal showers!! I understand the shared bathrooms on the doem floors.

well by that definition, there are no private bathrooms at all at Kent. all the bathrooms are shared

Lawrenceville has shower stalls
