Of course they change their mind....50% premeds decide, HALF-WAY thru organic chem, that they chose the WRONG path. Dedication, organization, discipline OR BEER/BONG/BABES

Anybody going to Waco for January 31 interview?

i am(: what state are you from?

@tropixx do you know faculty who are conducting the Baylor2Baylor interviews?

Have no info at all…only the date and that many applicants got closed out of interviews as they filled schedule quickly.

ohh, ok. out of curiosity then, what is your connection/particular interest in that program?(:
i suppose i should feel very lucky then, because i registered quickly enough to snag an interview time^^

Hey,
Feel free to ask me any questions. I’m currently a freshman in the program. Be warned, my responses might be a bit limited since finals just started.

Anyways, good luck!

@DxSnake, I keep hearing that research experience is absolutely necessary to even get an interview in the program. How accurate is this? Did you do research as a high school student yourself?

I’m just really freaked out because RPI is my top choice bs/md program or otherwise and i only have engineering friends there so they have no idea about this program >.< haha

hey, I haven’t received a status change on my account…I’m worried

My account status says that my application is still under review. fingers crossed :-)

@asapaj5, when is your interview date?

when do REMs notifications come?

Hey guys when did you get the invitation to apply for Baylor2Baylor med program? I submitted my Baylor application in October way before the deadline and got admitted to Baylor before Nov 1. I’m sure I put premed down so I would be considered for the program and not to sound pretentious, but I’m relatively certain my stats would qualify me for at least being considered for the program (2300+ SAT, near 4.0 gpa, national science competitions, etc)? I never got any response… so now i’m kind of worried…

@bobbyjoe123, my son was in the same situation earlier. You need to call them first thing Monday. They fixed the problem for my son in less than a week.

Hey hurstian, how did they fix the problem for your son?? I’m seeing alot of other parents talking about how they’re just on the waiting list now, like myself.

I read that Baylor sending out confirmation requests to students to facilitate waiting list openings but that the interview roster is CLOSED…apparently a number of applicants failed to timely monitor the PORTAL which was the vehicle for interview invites!

@davidxavi, Baylor added my son to interview list even though there were no interview slot open. They did that for us because we never received invitation to Baylor interview.

@hurstian Thank you for your suggestion! I called them…and apparently they said they sent the email out Nov 20th…but I’m certain that I never received it since Baylor emails don’t go to my spam folder and I check my email regularly. Either way, unfortunately, I’m on the wait list now so I guess I’ll see what happens next…

@hurstein Also, just out of curiosity, was it the admissions counselor on the phone that gave you an interview slot? And was there anything on the GoBaylor page about Baylor2Baylor interviews for your son? Sorry about all the questions…

I worry that maybe really good stats go against you for the really non select programs…because even if they offer you the spot they think you won’t take it and match somewhere else??

i dont think relatively high stats would be too hurtful to a students application in terms of receiving an invitation to interview at baylor though(:
my stats are decent and i still received the invitation. getting past this first round to the second stage of interviews is a whole other question though, of course.
