Can anyone tell me if the invitation to this program is received via email or via mail? My friend’s son has been expecting it and now has learned that the program invites are filled. We are trying to figure out where he screwed up. Thanks.

How did he/she know the B2B program invitees are filled ? My D didn’t get any notice yet. My expectation on an invitation letter is in December.

Dad2013- We thought the same thing but our thinking was wrong for this year. This student has already been accepted to Baylor so he was on the lookout for the invite which he did not expect until December based on the program’s website.

This morning he checked his email and saw that on Nov. 20 he had received an email invite for the "Excellence In Education (or whatever Baylor calls it) program. The email said “since you have received an invitation for the B2B program on that weekend we want to invite you to Excellence.” He freaked out and called Baylor admissions. They told him that invites for B2B had gone out on Nov. 20 via email and that the program filled by the next day and that they were no longer accepting students. His mother got on the phone with the Director of Admissions to beg and she was told that they would simply put him on the wait list. Baylor told them that they were surprised by how quickly people responded and how fast it filled up.

I went over and checked his email because they kept on saying “he never received an invite to B2B”. I found nothing in Spam but this student has a gmail where one of the labels (or whatever Google calls it) across the top is “promotional”. I found the invitation in there and sure enough it was sent on Nov. 20.

This student clicked on the registration button hoping it would work but instead it took him to his Baylor portal in the messages section where it says that that B2B for end of Jan is filled. This student is really heartbroken since he really wanted to apply to that program.

This student did take Baylor up on their Excellence weekend invite. The website instructions do not seem accurate since we were under the impression that students receive in invitation to apply and then those selected go to the B2B weekend in January. It looks instead like a student was invited to attend the B2B weekend and those that signed up in time received the invitation.

If you D was expecting an invite then look all over her email account. At least she can sign up for the excellence weekend. Good luck.

My D doesn’t have any interest in Baylor UG except for B2B. She is ivy-caliber kid with great SAT/GPA/ECs. If your observation turns out true, it’s not professional way to invite B2B candidates. I will check with my D who has been busy for an out-of-state debate tournament last week. FYI, we checked goBaylor site and our mailbox everyday.

This student is like you DD. He really liked the B2B program the best. I am hoping there is so mix-up. This student has a really good relationship with the admission rep assigned to our area. She is out on vacation this week but he wrote her to ask about it filling up so fast. They said they had 150 students rsvp for the p2p interview weekend. What happened does not confirm with what is said on the b2b website. I thought students were invited to apply and then Baylor selected the ones they wanted to interview.

How did Baylor screen the invitation from many applicants ? If my D didn’t get any invitation begging her in a waitlist, it indicates that Baylor didn’t think her qualified for B2B. So, even if she goes to interview day, it would be rare chance to get in. It seems like she and I don’t have to waste time in B2B. B2B invitees can be proud of themselves outbeating my D who has perfect SAT/GPA. :(

FAME and PACT have lot more seats than B2B as well as Rice.

I know other BSMD pgms. She is almost ready to apply for rice/baylor and other pgms (Dec 1 due date). We also need a confirmation from Baylor. Thanks.

Baylor put my D into B2B invitation list, recognizing her qualification. Not knowing this, she applied to Rice/Baylor in 12/1 and will soon apply for UT-PACT.

@Dad2013 hope your D gets the B2B program and others as well! would mind sharing her stats?

Dad2013- I just want clarification about what you posted. Did your D get an interview spot for the B2B program in January on Baylor’s campus? My friend’s son’s got an invite but when he called 5 days later they told him the spots had filled within 24 hours of the invite going out. Thanks for your help. Stats are similar to your D’s too.

“Not knowing this, she applied to Rice/Baylor in 12/1”

A kid this year got through from both schools to Baylor this year and waitlisted on both lists.

@itsv, yes, she got an interview spot. Because of admin system glitch, B2B program mistakenly didn’t invite her. So, they corrected it with an apology comment. She regained a confidence in B2B desire (;it is still a rare chance to be the 6 incoming B2B students).

Dad2013- Thanks for the update. I am happy they corrected their mistake and gave her an interview spot. Good luck to her.

so some of you guys will be going to the B2B interview on january 31st?(: i look forward to hopefully meeting you guys, as ill be there as well!~

My D and I will go there in Jan 31st. Hope all of you can go beyond the 1st interview.

Hi,

What are the stats required for this program.
Thanks.
