Baylor University High School Summer Science Research Program 2013

Did anyone else apply!?

Has anyone attended a previous year? If so, can you tell me more about this program?

My son was accepted …and attending!

I think it is not announced yet for the result! The program description says that decision will be made in the middle of April. Do you mean your son got in last year? or got in Baylor University not this summer program for high school student internship?

He was accepted for this summer in the science research program.

Application Deadline: All materials must be submitted by March 1, 2013. Incomplete applications will not be submitted to the selection committee. Students selected for the program will be notified by the middle of April.
@MaterMia, Is your residency in Texas? Could you share your son’s spec.? I am also waiting for news for my kid. Thank!

Rejected :(

Hey biovball, by any chance did it say that you were in line as an alternate?

biovbal@ Sorry for the news! I think they may have a preference and this is only 10 seats program and hard to get in. It doesn’t mean your qualification is not enough. It is a matching rather than a selection of best 10 people. Hope you to hear good news from other programs! Good Luck!

It didn’t say anything about being an alternate.

Thanks mijiking! I applied to seven others so hopefully I get one of them!

My son is accepted.

Um, awkward? Didn’t get any email.

Everyone should receive at least an email notice. I know two people received reject emails.

Okay, that’s weird. I got a confirmation email back in February that said I submitted the application. So I definitely applied and submitted the app. Do they tell you anything if the application is incomplete? I don’t think mine is because I checked at least three times, but hey, it’s a possibility.

For those people accepted, what subject are you or your child doing research on? Maybe that affected when we hear back.

My son will be doing some research in mechanical engineering.
