Baylor University VS UT Austin Decision

Hello! I’m a super over thinker and for the past few weeks I have been running myself crazy trying to decide which school I want to go to - Baylor University or UT Austin!

Right now, I’m leading towards Baylor University as, since my sister went there, I’ve visited many times and love the campus, but I also love UT Austin for many reasons.

I am majoring in Journalism, however, I may change to a different major but still in the realms of the school of communications. I can be shy at times so I want a school that feels open and where I can easily make real friends. I care about academics but the most important thing is being comfortable on campus. I like the idea that Baylor is small so that way it’s smaller classes and more of a relationship with the professors. Although UT is bigger, it has great academics. Lastly, I’m religious but not like super duper so that doesn’t really play a role in my decision.

If anyone has ANY advice to help me make a decision between the two, I would greatly appreciate it as I need all the help to stop overthinking the situation!! Thank you.

Both schools are equally are great, but personally, I would choose UT Austin. There is a ton of opportunity in Austin, but you sound like you love Baylor! I don’t think it’s a tough decision at all, sounds like you know within your heart.

There are practically no jobs with a journalism degree, so I’d consider something else and base your decision on whichever is better in that something else, costs being equal.

Are you planning to rush? Does that play into your decision at all?

Moody has a Top 5 journalism program in the nation- so I’d go to UT. Also even though UT is expensive, you’d save tens of thousands of dollars going there than going to Baylor. Hook 'Em!
