<p>"The industrial use of plastics is greater than steel" --> that phrase is wrong. How can something abstract (the "use" of plastics) be greater than something concrete ("steel")? The way to fix it would be to say "..the industrial use of plastics is greater than the use of steel" or something similar</p>
<p>I'll probably focus more on writing in the days leading up to the SAT instead of going over the concepts now, that's why I'm only doing the practice questions in the BB pertaining to CR and Math. I'll have all the Writing problems to do later though I don't want to do them in this book because the blue book only gives answers, not explanations.</p>
<p>You can't compare "use of plastics" to "steel." You need "use of steel" to make it clear--otherwise you're essentially comparing apples to oranges. It's like saying...The amount of spaghetti I ate is greater than ice cream. That just doesn't make sense, does it?</p>
