I HATE problem 14. It's so stupid and I ALWAYS get stumped on this type of problem. I try subsituting, but it doesn't work.

747 #14

Questions 13 - 14 refer to the following functions g and h.
g(n) = n^2 + n
h(n) = n^2 - n

Which of the following is equivalent to h(m + 1)

Answer: A. g(m)

Substitute (m + 1) for n in the function h(n) = n^2 - n. h(m) = (m + 1)^2 - (m + 1).

Simplify it. h(m) = m^2 + m

If you refer back to the top, this is equilavent to g(n) = n^2 + n; therefore h(m+1) is equivalent to g(m).
