BC, Bowdoin, Middlebury, Colby: Chances!

I would be soo happy if you just skimmed this at least and chanced me!!! (I am a prospective Int. Studies or History major)

I am going to be a high school junior this upcoming year and I am pretty sure my first choice is Boston College, though the other three are my next top choices. I attend a public high school in Vermont and take as many of the most rigorous courses it offers as I can.

-I have taken one course with the University of Vermont under the Gifted and Talented high schoolers program, but have not received my grade yet. I am hoping that the fact it is called "Hockey in Canadian Literature" may show I take initiative in my education and take classes I enjoy! heehee
-I played soccer for the past two years but will not be involved with it for the next two.
-I was involved in the H20 (Help 2 Others) Club this past year and next year, and will most likely be the president of it my senior year.
-I am planning to finish my high school career with 6 APs (Studio Art, Calculus, Statistics, U.S. History, European History, and English). Have so far completed honors in Earth Systems Science and American Experience (required 10th grade history/english class).
-I have maintained a 4.0 unweighted GPA since I began high school and plan on keeping it that way, and I have never received a B as a final grade in any class thus far (woohoo).
-Will finish HS with 4 years of French, and more than 4 years in every other core subject.
-I have volunteered 27 hours over 4 months at a local museum so far.
-I had decent PSATs last year, each in the 610 range, but I expect to do much better on the SATs and this fall's PSATs.
-I am planning on getting involved in our Red Cross Club this year and will volunteer other places as well.
-Will be in the National Honor Society for the next two years.
-Will be involved in Model UN senior year.
-No personal awards yet but I hope I will get some!
-Involved as a student ambassador in my sophomore year for incoming freshmen to my HS.
-I hope and expect to be in the top 5 - top 10 of my graduating class of about 200 students.
-I will most likely be going on a missions trip with my Christian - Protestant church next summer, to either Ecuador or Zimbabwe.

And finally, here are the science and math classes I will be getting credit for (I m not including history or English courses because I have way more than enough):

Experimental Chemistry
Earth Systems Science
Engineering Lab
Experimental Biology
Principles of Physics
AP Stats
AP Calc
Geometry
Algebra I
Algebra II / Trigonometry
PreCalculus

Do you think I have a decent shot at getting in to each/any of my top 4 colleges? Also, will it hurt my chances if I don't get a job until the summer before I apply? THANK YOU!

You sound like you are definitely on the right track. How are your strengths in english and writing though. A strong essay will be helpful to these competitive liberal arts colleges. Your SATs are low but you sound more than capable of bringing them up. Your extra curriculars are very strong and they seem to show a strong sense of morality and faith. Keep on track! BC seems random when pooled with the other three. Why the interest in BC?

Chance me?

THank you!!

And I am a good writer, I got a small classroom award for a writing competition, and I think I am pretty articulate. Also, do you think will it hurt my chances if I don’t get a job until the summer before I apply?

I just love Boston, as well as the BC campus, which is beautiful. I like that it’s so close to the city, and I like the others because they are within 3 hours of it. BC has a larger student body than the other three, but the campus beauty makes up for it. I kind of wanted to got to a school somewhere in between the size of BC and the others I mentioned, but I decided BC was still my number 1. BC’s history and international studies programs are also strong.

Please help me out guys!!!
