Does anyone know how much First Gen is considered? I have below average stats (4.37 W and 3.8ish UW) and would like to know if they consider it to boost my application. I didn’t apply for FA.
Did anyone else get an email saying ED2 will be posted 2/3?

Was somewhat discouraged and confused as my son had been rejected by Case Western and deferred by both Villanova and Richmond despite stats that seemed to make those schools clear targets. But just found out tonight he was admitted Early Decision 2 to his first choice - Boston College. Frustrating and confusing process but it all worked out and he is very excited! Congrats to everyone else who was admitted!
This year has been very hard…all of those gap year kids are still trickling in and the test optional has increased applications to new heights. My daughter also was accepted ED2. We are thrilled! Congrats to you and the rest of the ED2s who were accepted.
Rejected ED2. Son is crushed. I truly don’t get this process at all.
Stats: 3.9 GPA through junior year, now a 4.0 with S1 senior year but not sure if they got that in time. (4.4 this fall)
34 ACT. 11 APs. Computer Science dept award for his class two years in a row. No class rank as his school doesn’t do that. Varsity Tennis, NHS. Various clubs. habitat for Humanity, college summer class, SPCA volunteer, tech summer internship.
He’s been accepted at Richmond which was one of his other top choices so pending his RD decisions good change he will go there but it’s just brutal to have a flat out rejection from his top choice. His essays were amazing too. Heartbreaking.
Is anyone having trouble accessing the portal? My son hasn’t been able to get on since yesterday afternoon. He was deferred from ED II so maybe they kicked him out of the portal! Ha ha!
Congrats to the ED2ers that got in! We are regretting not EDing BC. It was my daughters first choice since our June visit, but we talked her out of applying early decision 1 or 2 bc of the cost. She was deferred for ND, but accepted at UT and another great regional school - both for engineering which is GREAT, but her heart is still in Boston. Sure hope there is still space available for her! Again, congrats to those who got in!
That sums up the crazy admissions year! Sounds like BC was where he is supposed to be!! Congrats!
So sorry to hear that. My son has been deferred at Richmond, BC and Wake Forest (his first choice - he was devastated). I have no idea what these schools are looking for… Applications are way up this year because of gap years and test optional so I think that’s really messing things up. Your son will love Richmond!! It’s a fantastic school!
