BC/EFA sets new fundraising record!

<p>This week marks the conclusion of the spring fundraising campaign for Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS by Broadway, off-Broadway, and touring shows. A new record was set with the donations totalling $3.7 million! I'm guessing, and hoping, that many of you theatre lovers here on CC were contributors at shows you may have seen across the country, in addition to those who visit NYC. The spring campaign culminates in the Easter Bonnet Competition which was held on Monday and this afternoon at the Minskoff. It's only fitting that Rent won the competition this year, raising almost $280,000 in their final Easter Bonnet competition before their long run on Broadway ends in September. Bravo to all the shows, casts and crews who participate, in addition to the thousands of very generous theatre fans. </p>

<p>At D's high school after shows (at the theatre & during school lunchtime), the students would walk around with a bucket collecting donations. I'm so proud of their support in fighting this, and so happy that a new record was set!
