D has been accepted to the Honors College and is considering accepting. Can anyone share some more information about the Honors College, are their special classes, seminars, group events? I understand that Honors College kids live in the same dorm, they select it when filling out housing. Does anyone know anything about the honors dorm, if it is required, and if it is desirable?

Other than events organized by your Western Cult professor, there are no group events, in A&S. CSOM has frequent social events.

Medeiros is half honors, half non-honors. It is split into three sections and each section is split into halves, separated by bathrooms. Each half has nine rooms and genders are separated by floor, but it’s basically co-ed. Honors students are by no means required to live there. I would not recommend it. The only advantage is guaranteeing Upper campus, but the other residence halls offer a better experience, in my opinion.

Completely agree with PAHreen. There are not many real benefits to being in the honors program except for the honors tag. As for housing, I don’t see a point in isolating yourself with a bunch of honors students if you’re going to be taking classes with them throughout the next year or two. Living in the other residence halls gives your daughter a much better experience and chance of making more friends. Hopefully your daughter decides to enroll here at BC :)
