Hey everybody! I am currently struggling deciding which school to go: Boston College or UC–Berkely. Actually I prefer to be in Boston and I know that BC is a great school. But I don’t know too much about the academics(especially humanities ) of BC while I know UCB is very strong at humanity. What is the atmosphere like in BC and what is the class size generally? Anybody here is a current student in Lynch School of Education? I will be really appreciative if anybody can share with me living experience in BC.

need more information.

Are you instate for Cal? Major? Are you interested in education? (Cal doesn’t offer it.)

Costs?

I am highly interested in education but also open to other possibilities such as literature and psychology. I don’t care too much about the cost actually. All I care about is the academic atmosphere and the education quality.

Across the board, Cal has “better” academics. Indeed, Cal has more top-ranked programs than Harvard. That being said, those are grad-rated programs – no one really rates undergrad programs, and the “atmosphere” for undergrads is much, much different than at BC. (Cal is a large, public, urban Uni.)

Thanks for relying. What is the general class size in Cal? Does student get lots of chances talking to the professors?

I’m in the same position, but I want to do pre med, and I heard it’s very competitive at both schools. And I know that professors have office hours, you just actually have to get up and go. So yes you can form relationships with professors.

Pre-med is competitive in any school…so have you decided which one to go? How are you going to choose between this two?
