can anyone tell me about the party scene at boston college? how good are the parties?

I want to know to

my friend who goes to school there said the parties are ill

I spent a night in BC with my friend, the night before admitted students eagle day. And became very very intoxicated at various points in the night. Many dorms have their own dorm parties and many people drift around. The parties are great, there is alot of alcahol etc. The main problem I have observed is that there is no centralized place to party, like a frat. So the parties are good, but scattered, and you have friends, finding one shouldnt be a problem.

ill = good right?

lol yes good, sry northeast slang

heh thats cool, just checking the meaning has not changed since i had heard it last :)

the party scene here at BC is what you make of it. i think its awesome, and there are definitely lots of "parties" going on in the dorms. a usual friday night is drifting around the dorms with your buddies, or throwing your own booze-fest in your dorm. the RA's are generally pretty chill, as long as you can control the noise level after a certain point. there are parties on comm. ave, the main street of boston that is closeby to main campus. (all the apartments are off comm. ave) - other than that, its usually just drinking and partying in the dorms, and wandering off campus to apartment parties or going into boston to clubs and stuff. its pretty fun, im sure nobody will be let down by the party scene here at BC, especially when our teams win since our school lives for our sports

What about the other side of that, will a student that doesn't drink be able to fit in? I would imagine that Boston has a lot to offer for anybody, but are there a fair number of students who choose not to be big partiers?

There are 9,000 undergrads, over 2,200 of them will be freshman. I am positive you can find yourself any type of crowd of people to hang out with.

there are people that choose not to drink, and you can still party without drinking. i wouldnt worry about it, or any of this stuff, its college youll have tons of fun no doubt.

i agree with zdawg about it being what you make of it. basically one of the things i love about BC is that there seems to be something for everyone. plus with the city nearby, there are always plenty of options in town and with other schools.

im still worried about the fact that everyone seems to only care about going to school to drink as much as possible, and I dont drink and I dont even find partying to be that fun, so i am worried that i will definitely not fit in.

i dont drink and ill be a freshman at BC next year...so yeah i'm still pumped and im sure there are plenty of ppl that dont drink and have an awesome college experience

Let's be honest -- partying plays a pretty big role in the social scenes of most colleges these days. And BC doesn't disappoint those who are looking for that type of scene, with our D-I athletics, outgoing student body, etc. etc.

The biggest difference between BC and a lot of other "hard-partying" schools is our lack of fraternities and sororities. As people have already said, partying takes place in the dorms and off-campus -- but that makes for a more varied and interesting experience, and I feel like I actually get to MEET people that way, while developing a strong group of friends. My friends at other schools have complained that they go to "frat houses every weekend" and that people are "pledging," causing drama among friends, etc. Sometimes I wish we had frats/sororities because there's ALWAYS a party to go to, but then there are obvious drawbacks.

People are so involved with school activities here -- and that's how you meet people. And Boston's a great town -- you're not going to be bored, trust me.

ckmets and xcjimmy, I don't drink either! we can all party together next year, haha. =)

sounds good haha
