Both are great schools. Any comparisons between the two. Thanks

well i heard tufts is more international... whether that be its professors or students.

i didn't apply to tufts at all, so i'm kind of biased, so pick bc

Tufts is an amazing school. It was my number one and I congratulate you if you got into both. BC was my second choice and I am now going. =)

I am quite excited about it though. I know i'll have a wonderful time.

uhhh... lol sorry this post didn't help much in answering your questions.

I agree with jench820. Tufts was my first choice, and I applied ED and didn't get in. BC was second choice as well and I'm really excited to go there.

However, if I were in your position Tufts would be my choice. There are pros and cons of each, if you'd rather be in a larger school with religious affiliation then BC would be a great choice, but if you'd prefer a smaller campus with more international students choose Tufts! I also don't know your political views, but Tufts is more liberal and BC would be leaning more conservative.

My best friend is going to Tufts next year and playing lacrosse for them. I also know three people who currently go there both in the engineering school and in the liberal arts school, so if you have more questions I could give you their contact info.

GOOD LUCK DECIDING!

MarisaBryce! good to hear from another first choice tufts person. Yea, I applied EDI to Tufts and got deferred! I then got rejected in the RD pool ... i kinda felt like "well, if you were going to reject me anyways why didn't you do it sooner?!!" The deferral really built me up and gave me hope that I was going to get in. =(

However, I am tres excited about BC now! Eagle Pride. =)

haha, yeah it is good to hear from someone else who has similar feelings to you, especially about the process of school selection. jench820 it says that you're from connecticut, I'm from New Hampshire! (pretty close by) Do you have any idea what you're majoring in at bc?

I am pretty certain that I will major in the sciences such as Biology because I intend on going to medical school afterwards. I would also like to minor in Art and Music! Right now, I am just going with the flow!

How about yourself?

=)

I want to major in political science and minor in Spanish! ...I'm thinking about law school after undergrad.

alike many other here, tufts and bc have always been at the top of my list. now that i have been waitlisted to tufts, i hope to attend bc next year now that im in! yayy.

Wow, I can't believe how many people had the same Tufts/BC experience as I did. I also applied EDI to Tufts, got deferred, then rejected, and am now heading to BC in the honors program. Even though I was originally upset about not getting into Tufts right away, I am really excited about being an Eagle. I think I'm going to major in English but be on the pre-med track, and possibly minor in Spanish. We should all start getting to know each other :)

wow this Tufts/BC phenomena is surprising me as well. =) Well, I am glad we are all here together! Haha .. I could imagine a club starting at BC ... "Tufts rejects"

PhantomGirl, didn't you feel like Tufts built you up by deferring you after EDI --- not even a waitlisted??? That's what I felt like! I THOUGHT I stood a good chance! =(

Marisa, BC thinking about attending law school at BC afterwards? =)

well....I want to do constitutional law. so my goal is to go to a law school in washington d.c. however, law school in boston, especially at bc would be great too!

it is funny that there is such a close connection between tufts and bc! on the topic of getting to know eachother better, does anyone know what kind of activites or clubs they want to get involved in at bc? Or was there something that they really liked in high school that they're going to continue (ie intramurals or club sports)

I got rejected from Tufts too! I really wanted to go there but I am also really excited about BC. I am doing pre-med also but I'm not sure what I am majoring in yet. And I am not even sure if I am going to BC because I didn't get a lot of financial aid. I will probably have to go to either Gonzaga University or Pacific Lutheran University, which are both out in Washington. I am from Oregon, but I am coming to visit BC and Providence College next week. Originally I was going to come for a whole week but I got rejected from my 2 top choices, Dartmouth and Tufts!! They say that Tufts is for people who were rejected from the ivies, well I got rejected from both the ivies and Tufts, so where does that leave us... Boston College!!!

jench, I can't say I was too surprised by Tuft's rejection, although part of me did expect to be waitlisted. I had heard that once you are deferred, it can be quite difficult to get in on the second round unless you actively campaign for yourself - of course that is a generalization and probably isn't true for every deferred student. I sent a letter in updating Tufts on my achievements, as did my principal, but I tried not to get my hopes up. I also knew that the fact that I am a white female who lives 20 minutes away would hurt me since Tufts, like many universities, is big on diversity.

Marisa, I have played violin for 10 years so I think I will look into joining BC's orchestra. As far as clubs, I'll have to see what interests me once I get there.

As far as activities go, I am glad that BC has some decent competitive sporting events, hehe. I know I'll enjoy watching their 30 something varsity sports teams playing compared to Tufts 1 (? sailing?) varsity sport. I am thinking that I may do some club intramurals since I have yet to exercise these past four years, haha. Volleyball perhaps.

Marisa, ahhh yes, Washington is the ultimate place to go for law! Did you apply to G-town? I know people that applied and got rejected from my school. =( sigh ... college admissions is harsh

pinkflamingo, yea ... the money thing. So many people cannot attend the schools that they wish because of money! it makes me beyond angry and sad!

phantom, i used to play violin. =) I stopped when I went to high school thinking that i would have no time!! I was severely music deprived and finally decided to pick up an instrument! I started piano two years ago and hope to be able to continue throughout college! Say .. i should find out info about piano lessons at BC ...

Ciao! congrats all! p.s. I am really starting to feel a bond with you all. =)

nope, I didn't apply to georgetown. I'm not really sure why, I just didn't! haha

intramural sports sound like a ton of fun to me...I currently do three varsity sports at my school xc, track, and lacrosse and I used to play soccer. I'm thinking of doing soccer for intramurals or something that i'm really bad at like volleyball! haha maybe we could form a team together! haha

i'm also really into the women's club thingyy...i'm not really sure the official name of it (i know that the "women's club thingyy" isn't the offical name haha) but I want to join that group. I stopped in when I visited the student union building and everyone there seemed really nice and interesting!

OoO are any of you going to the admitted students day on april 8th? (this saturday)

jench, do you know what orientation session you are going to go to? I'm going to go to one of the ones in June, maybe the one that's around the 18th. It would be cool if some of us from this board ended up going around the same time and met up :)

i was rejected by tufts too! and now i am going to BC....

crazy

phantomgirl, I am not quite sure when I am going to orientation yet .. .but most likely one of the earlier ones like the first or second one. However, I do know that I wll be at Eagle Day on Apr. 22nd!! woot woot!

now, for a totally off-topic question ... what do you guys like to do for fun!!!?!

=) Jen.

yay fun...let's see...I love dancing - I danced for 13 years and only stopped recently because my schedule was getting too hectic. I love being with my friends and finding great restaurants to eat at...I spend a lot of time with my boyfriend of 3 years too. I also loooooove shopping and if I wasn't broke I'd be at the mall all the time haha

what else...I love seeing good movies and I'm an avid reader...what about you jen?
