Looking at both of them, not much time left to decide.
They are two really different schools, with different things going for them.
I know theres a ton of stuff to do at UMiami on campus, but what is there to do on campus at BC?
Essentially, what is the BC campus life like?

Also, if anyone has any thoughts for one or the other I would be glad for the help

I had a similar dilemma. Miami had been my dream school since i was little, as my mom went there. I was actually deferred at first, while i still didnt know about BC. Anyways long story short i got into both and changed my mind and decided to go to BC. People say they see me more at Miami (love the weather) but I felt that BC had more of a college feel. They are similar academic wise but I think BC has a stronger alumni connection as well as a slightly better reputation.

I think it really comes downt to your personality. socially again they are similar but Miami may be a bit more of a party school. They have greek live vs. BC does not. Also, there are many other schools in Boston, and a few in Miami (not very well known, FIU, FAU)Theres also different types of people at both schools- as BC is catholic. That was also a factor for me.
Sometimes I regret not choosing the U but in the end i think i made the best decision for myself.

I currently have a son at U Miami and a daughter at BC. They each love their school. One great thing about both schools is the school spirit and atmosphere at all of the sporting events. I would say that BC focuses a bit more on community service and nurturing each student as a future community member. That being said, the daily life at U Miami is far superior- swimming pool, fresh Florida fruits and veggies, fountains in the courtyards, sunshine.
Best of luck to you!

Far superior? Warm weather and having swimming pools directly correlate to better living? I could argue that having snow and nearby ski areas makes BC a better place to live. It depends on personal preference.

I think your view of BC is a bit idealized. BC advocates community service and leadership, yes. But, BC students are just as independent as any others and are by no means obligated to do service. The overall BC experience does instill a desire for service, whereas Miami probably does not quite as much.

I attended BC many years ago (fire had just been invented and there were still a few Druids in the BC administration). My son graduated from UMiami 18 months ago.

The schools have a lot of similarities. They are both medium-sized. They both sit on the edge of vibrant cities. Both are over-coming old stereotypes as party schools that are home to wealthy, preppy Northeast/New York area kids.

I can’t intelligently speak to the differing amounts of activities on-campus. But, with its abundance of colleges, Boston is the quintessential college city. It’s hard to imagine a city better attuned to entertaining students. The annual influx of new faces keeps Boston much younger than you’d expect a nearly 400 year old city to be.

Miami is an exciting city that has a strong Cuban, Caribbean and Latin influence. There are also plenty of things to do there though there is less of an emphasis on college students. UMiami is a small part of the city, BC is one school of many that has an impact on the feeling of its city. If you like the sun and the water, Miami wins - while there are beaches around Boston, you’re not going to use them most of the time during the school year and being honest, no one is going to choose Nantasket Beach over South Beach. If you want to swim, SCUBA etc Miami is the place.

Boston does have the change of seasons which I think many people who don’t regularly experience it don’t appreciate. You can go skiing but it’s a 2-4 hour ride to anything decent. For me the biggest “college experience” difference between BC and Miami is football. With the stadium right on campus, BC Saturdays are exciting and cause a real buzz around campus. Miami plays its games at the old Orange Bowl which takes a good 30-45 minute (free) public transportation ride to get to. That may or may not be a small thing for you.
