bc vs villanova

reasons please? just got off the waitlist at one and have the opportunity to change my decision.

anticipated bio major/pre-med

which one did you get off the waitlist for?

on 4/16/11 you posted that you were accepted to both and were trying to decide where to deposit

No brainer, go to BC. It is a much better school in a much better city. In addition, BC has a much stronger alumni network.

bc- yes rodney i did, assuming i would be off it (totally bold of me!) still not completely sure though, leaning towards bc now.

Definitely go to BC…Boston has so much opportunity to offer and although this may sound superficial, BC is certainly more selective and prestigious than Villanova.

Boston beats Philly easily for a college town. And for premed, there are a gazillion bio-sci labs that are always seeking undergrads to work on their research.

I’ve heard that BC is pretty Christian, unless that would throw you off then I agree with the majority here

Boston College!

^^If his choices are BC and Villanova I don’t think that he has an issue with catholic colleges.

yeah ive been going to catholic school all my life… naht a problem

There are many great things about Villanova. However, be aware, that you will be stuck in a double room that was converted into a triple. About 1/2 of freshman students are in triples - the ones who are not sent in their deposit very early and are in the one dorm where the ceilings are too low for bunk beds.

… Boston college. Congrats!

depends on what you are going for…busniess go to Villanova (#7 business school), engineering go to Villanova, pre-med probably BC…Both aren’t located in Boston or Philly and both have train stops to take students into the city from campus…although Nova does have doubles converted to triples, at BC you could be stuck on Newton campus, which is far away from the main campus, where roughly 20% of the freshman class is just in a void.

“Pre-Med” should really be irrelevant, technically. There isn’t a school in the US that wont have two semesters of Calculus, Physics, Bio and Chem. Other than that, OP’s best major for Med school would probably be Philosophy, or Linguistics, or Political Science, or whatever interests him.
