BCT Fact or Fiction?

My Basic sent us a letter today and said that state that 20 July was the last date that a cadet could be a medical turnback. Can an upper classman or school official confirm or deny this piece of information? That would have been 26 days into basic cadet training and 12 days prior to the end of beast.

I have never heard this.
The standard is: miss 8 days of training and you get a turnback. (An exception was made this year, for those with the flu.)

Came across this. Not sure of the original source

These are the standards that must be met:

Be present 30 of 38 training days

Complete 2/3 of physical events

Pass physical and aerobic fitness tests

Pass Field Courses

Aptitude—pass 3 of 5 weeks:

Inspections, Drill, Knowledge, Customs & Courtesies

Conduct

Sanctions:
Turnback
Probation
Re-accomplish course next year
Dismissal

Thanks for the information it was helpful. I heard the flu hit the BCs pretty hard this year that coupled with the normal sickness must have been pretty ugly for the Docs.

wait in the clinic when I went in there was generally 5-7 hours. One kid actually was in there from just before it opened until closing. Definitely made it ugly for the docs.

I unfortunately got hit hard by the flu and other sicknesses so i spent alot of time in sick call. We got a briefing saying that no one would be turned back for being sick, as they were assuming that it was all the flu. So there were people like me who had almost a week of Iso. under their belts, some more than others, plus other days of bedrest, and no turn back. just my two cents :)

No truth to the rumour about the new class slogan: “2013 quanantine” ;)

Sadly, the place F22_AFA and I saw each other most was the clinic/med tent. We must have gotten to see each other for at least a few hours during those lovely waiting periods. Gotta love Swine Flu!
