So, lately I’ve been getting some conflicting information on the regulations for a female hair cut during BCT:
no longer than the bottom of the collar
no longer than the top of the collar
half up is ok, if it does not touch your shoulders
hair must be all up, and in some sembalence of a bun

Whatever you do, don't cut your hair before BCT for the sole reason of making it easier. I know so many girls that regret doing just that and are now growing it out again. Besides, I love long hair :-).

I was about to cut mine but a cadet told me I'd regret it so I'm keeping it. Argh, it's finally past my shoulder blades. It took like, two years, too.

My hair is layered and it is right above my shoulders. Don't worry, if i can put it in a bun, so can you. You just have to find the median where you put it up and hair from the bottom doesn't fall and hair from the top doesn't fall. You can put it into a ponytail that holds all your hair right? Well if you can, loop it under instead of pulling it out of the holder the last time. Then use another holder and place it on top, simplest bun for people with short layered hair. Then just experiment to find other ways.
